Default finally got a mk1 focus rs

I been really busy the last few months doing up my series one escort but last weekend i finally had the chance to buy my ither dream car a mk1 focus rs (still have the series 1 )

its got 76000 miles and has 12 months mot and 6 months tax but i am the 9th owner which is high i know and also the service history has been lost for it in the last 2 years which is a huge shame but it doesnt ditract from this car as there isnt a dent on it and its even wearing its original paintwork so no dodgy reapairs
And is fully H.P.I clear

just like to know what u experts would value it at bearing in mind it does need a couole of jobs i.e sump leak and chargecooler pump playing up and obviously not much history.

let me know what u rekon shes worth and ill tell u wgat i paid

cant seem to upload pics off my phone on here

Welcome to the elite mate.
Not sure on price on tours but I picked mine up for £7.5k
Full history. I'm the third owner it's now done 46k just had bumper painted and getting bonnet done in a couple of weeks due to stone chips.
Would maybe put yours in the 6- 6.5 k catagory
But I'm no expert mate just my guess

I'd agree with you stevos. I got mine about 4 months ago, full service history, with 53,000 miles great condition inside and out and i paid £7.5k also. Depending on your condition woody i again would agree with stevos and say low £6k.
Rs(555) there maybe some around at £5k but i wouldn't say plenty and if they are that price there will be a reason cos i don't think you will get a car that is problem free for less than £7-7.5k. As always you get what you pay for.

Im with u there definatly isnt plenty.well i took into account the amount of owners and lack of history with 12 months mot and 6 months tax and gor her for 5500 also had a new cam belt manifold 4 new toyo proxes tr1s and a few more bits done(still have chargecooler pump, front and rear pads and discs to do) but i was quite happy with 5500 as foe a ten year old unpainter car its prettu mint bar the usual stonechips

just didnt know if i did get the bargain i thought i did

I thought 5500 was a good deal the mileage is backed up with a mot history check i know history counts on an rs marque but i just didnt have the funds for a fully history backed up model but i saw this one and fell in love and i didnt think i paid top money for it so i can live with it

also build number is 0154

Have you contacted Clayton on the RSOC for a valuation. 0154 hasn't any details on the build list to date.

I've sent Clayton a message and a link to your post. I'd rather not just publish his email on an open forum, your best way to contact is via the build list which is Clayton's, use this link http://www.focusrsbuildlist.co.uk/in...tact&Itemid=57 or you could just join rsoc!

Just go to the RS owners website and set up a username and password and bingo you're on, you don't have to be a paid up member to get lots of good advice. Once you've registered Clayton will normally make himself known to you and will ask you for all the info he likes to gather for the Focus RS register.

By the way mate £5.5k seems like a good price. I love mine but they can be money pits - not because they are unreliable but because there is always something you want for it or something you want to get done to it. Enjoy it mate .

Nice wheels Jambo, do you get any rubbing with 19" wheels when you put an almost full steering lock on with the tyre rubbing on the front of the lower part of the arch?

Seems like you done well mate as said above there is always stuff to do to them no matter how good a one you buy.
I just wanted as low miles as I could but didn't want a total minter as I like to drive it. But I do like to keep my cars nice so anything it needs it gets.
First time I have driven mine in weeks as the bumper was of to get painted but my god it puts a smile on my face.

Cheers lads i am very happy with her she will be with me a long while i can see it my 2 year old lad loves it aswell and its my daily so will be kept in the best order hopefully see all u at some shows ill try and get my escort series 1 done aswell so there both going strong for the coming summer shows.

some people tryed putting me off a mk1 frs saying they were no good which is why they change hands so.often but i love it and the fact she will need working on is even better as i work on cars for a living so doing my own wont be a hassle but in the week ive had her the looks u get from people is the same as i do in my series 1 which makes it all worth while showing people these cars is what its all about

Classic Ford coming up next month mate. Get your bum up to Santa Pod for it.

I daresay the people who tried to put you off an FRS are the people who have never driven one. 99% of people who have had one only have good things to say about them.

cars on kw v3's so its quiet stiff.back doesnt rub at all even fully loaded but since i changed my tyres on the front to goodyear eagle f1's it rubs the inner arch slightly on full lock, but never when i ran vredestein US or parada spec 2's. i just dont full lock it,just leave it that 1/8 turn less.heres how it sits on the kw's with the 19's

chargecooler pump can be purchased from a place called avt, there about £90

http://www.chargecooler.co.uk/index....roducts_id=184

or theres a guide on the rsoc to change the brushes yourself for less than £10

steering wheel you can opt for a new std one.there were a few on the rsoc for sale.there nearly £400 new now from NCC or you can get a retrimmed one from a guy on ebay from germany and its better quality than the std one

top mounts can be purchased from graham at http://www.carpartsexpress.co.uk/
change the bearing with it aswell.

125k miles, back arches need work done, passenger side looks the worst and thats before you take the sills off,so its going to need some serious money on both back arches then paint.so thats you upto 6-6.5k for a 125k miles car,not the bargain it looks.
so thats 3 we've found for sale around the 5k mark, not plenty and certainly not history free or not needing money spent.
if your want to buy one mate buy one at the middle or higher end of the market.
good well looked after examples fetch 7-10k and theres still a few going for 10-12.5k

Mk1 Focus Rs's are not getting cheaper at all I think they've gone up in value since I bought mine and mines a 1 owner 40k car now! The one's around 5-7k need to be viewed as there either tatty, category damaged or little or no service history.

Also buying a cheaper one has more chance of some young boyracer having his hands on it and not maintaining it properly with cheap parts and bodge jobs. Buying a higher end of market one more chance that a wee scrote hasnt owned it and its been looked after with no expense spared. Buy cheap youll end up spending more replacing parts. Pay that little bit more and your money can go on maintening it and modding oh and fuel lol

Id rather have mibe with little history and nice miles knowing it hasnt had any bodywork than one with 125k on it with rotten arches im quite happy with mibe and while shes in my ownership she will be loved and the parts futted will be genuine where possible and fitted by myself as then ill know its done right lol

Car looks stunning Jambo, will have to keep an eye open for it if you are going to the Classic Ford do at the Pod.

Stone chips are pretty much the norm with them mate. I've heard that the paint is quite thin on these and was also very soft so it was inevitable that it was going to chip easily.
