Hi guys, just a little story for you!
just over 5 years ago myself and my wife took the decision to sell our much loved ford puma 1.7. we had owned the car for a good 4 or so years and really enjoyed owning it. we made some changes to it by changing the alloys for some more modern style items (at the time), added a scorpion exhaust, black side repeaters and a green cotton element air filter.
our situation changed and with a new born baby the car became a little impracticle. so very reluctantly we sold it to a older couple who lived locally. over the years weve seen it from time to time and recently my wife spotted it in a local supermarket car park. on a spur of the moment type of thing she wrote her mobile number on a scrap of paper and put it under the windscreen wiper asking if they would contact us if they were to sell it. months went by and out of the blue the oweners of the car called my wife to tell us they had put the car on ebay much to our horror!
we now have 2 kids but also have 2 cars. one family car (leon cupra 1.8t) and a run around vw golf. the kids are old enough to climb in and out themselves so we agreed to try and buy the puma back.
i scrapped together a deposit and went to take a look. now as you will all know to well that english weather isnt kind to fords and even more unkind to puma rear arches. this in mind they wernt too bad and other than some tlc and a damn good clean the car is exactly the same as when we sold it with only an additional 20 thousand miles.
so in a moment of lust i handed over my deposit and a week later our old puma is now sat proudly on my drive! it seems as if we never sold it, it still looks the same, it still drives the same and smells the same!
over the next few weeks ill start a small project style thread to show you its journy back to getting fresh and clean.
it has the a couple of little issues so ill be picking brains to rectify them, one being the washer bottle fluid light being stuck on :-s
anyways, it feels good to be a blue oval owner again! if i could remember how to post a photo of it, i would!
cheers
Matt

Good to hear you got it back, I was looking ages ago for my coupe quattro but never went as far as getting it even though i've seen it for sale and been contacted by the new owner.

There is a dashboard light for the washer bottle fluid? Haven't noticed one on any of the cars I've owned? Unless that's just because its never been on so I've not seen it?

great story i had a simuler thing, in 1994 i had a brand new 5b escort, it was a motability car so had it 3 years and then got a mk6, However i was sad to see the 5b go even tho it was a bogo one i really loved it, did'nt get the same feeling with the mk6 i had after it,
12 years or so later i found it on auto trader! £200 lol i had to have a look and so wanted it back just for the sentimental thing really
had noisy gearbox and no t&t and a few dents!
when i had it in 1995
