Default new car....impressed

Got myself a new car to save having drive the focus everyday to work. It’s a 530d sport model, 2003 with the auto box. I must say it’s a pretty impressive machine, drives superbly, lots of torque, super quiet and some nice functions only the Germans would think of. Its no replacement for the RS but will fulfil the family requirement nicely. Pics soon but to give you an idea its got the full msport kit, 18 inch wheels and black leather interior.

Can't beat a 6cyl diesel for a daily tbh. Poke, economy and refinement is all you need on the daily commute and the Focus becomes so much more enjoyable when being used purely for fun. Definitely will have myself a BMW 6cyl diesel in the future of some sort for a daily.

I would have thought even with London (you are around Whetstone iirc?) traffic with a 3.0d should still be minimum of 30mpg. If my ST can manage an average of 25mpg using the North Circular from Edmonton to Park Royal then I'm sure an oil burner even a 3.0 can do better than that!

yeah remaps on the cards as soon as funds allow (according to msd the remap gives better fuel economy too )

it looks totally different on the 18 inch wheels, they make the car IMO

not looking forward to replacing rear tyres, 265/35/18

tyres are mega cheap, don't worry
i replaced my rears on my 330ci, 255/35r18 £155 a pop for vredestein sessantas (due to great reviews), they better bloody well last, that's mid range tyres, don't even want to talk performance ones....
