Default ofab/ofac

whats the deal with compatability with sensors and injectors with these? i know its a bit off the wall but wondering if its a viable option for a budget supercharger/turbo conversion on my puma but know very little about it. main concerns being that it could be a mare if injectors are the wrong impedance or sensors arnt compatible. can anyone shed any light?

mine works fine with bosch 701's (beige) with the correct remap it is an ofac unit, I think it is only a 2 bar map sensor. uses a standard one hole missing chopper plate to drive the ecu via a hall effect cps. MSD in Blackpool have done a fine job of my ofac so far!

Another thing to look at is OFAM management! this looks really interesting! It is made by Boost Monkeys Ltd. It is a plug and play megasquirt 2 based ECU replacement for Fords EEC-IV OFAC and OFAB. Normally found in the Fiesta RS Turbo but used through out the Ford scene to convert other models to forced (turbo) induction.

good luck..........

cool. the ofam sounds interesting but id imagine its a pricey affair and im trying to do this on a fairly tight budget. tbh ive been tempted to go megasquirt but just want to be a bit different and also keep everything cheap and cheerful. ill look into the ofam though!! cheers

I would see how much work it is to see if you could mod the standard efi inlet on the engine
That way you can keep all the original sensors and so on

I forgot that your still running the 1700
My mates got a mk fiesta Zetec s and put a racing puma engine in
He's turbo'd it and u think its running a piggy back ecu over the original and its still got the Vvt
Made good power about 10 psi I think he is around 230/240 bhp

the ofam ecu range from Ł390 to Ł422!

Regarding sensors The inlet manifold could probably be drilled and tapped to get a sensor in to it if not already there but you will have some fun with mounts and routing the exhaust and the positioning if the turbo if you are going yo go that route!

good luck!

The attached pic shows the existing setup and I am sure OFAM can use existing sensors and the ofab /ofac can probably me remapped to used the newer input sensors! I do not know if the injectors are compatible though!

cool. possibly a daft question but would i need to convert the loom to an ofab/ofac loom or would the ofam ecu connect to the std ecu?
