Default Opiniion on which brakes to use please

im at a stage where I need to sort the braking system on my mk1 fiesta. I am after some feedback from people who have done similar to a small car such as a mini or mk1/2fiesta etc.

My plant so far is to run:

tilton pedal box
remote servo
wilwood callipers & discs
15" wheels

The car will be stripped out with 2 recaro's up front and fully caged.

Can anyone offer some advice please, some people suggest the cossie/rs2000 setup and others mk2 xr2 brakes.

any help would be great.

(mods please do not move this as this is directed to people who have moded any small car not just the fez

I have a MK1 XR2, 170bhp zetec engine, fully stripped interior with 2 seats and safety devices cage and still run the standard brakes with fast road pads, braided brake lines and what I think is an escort rst servo/master cylinder and it pulls up suprisingly very well.

All depends on power/weight I suppose to what you require but I don't think mine needs upgrading unless it was to be used on track quite often.

I have a mk3 RS Turbo with about 185 BHP, its good for more than 140 and Also get taken out and used to get used on tracks. I first upgraded to standard size x-drilled and grooved disks with green stuff pads but they could not cope! so then went for sierra cosworth 4x4 disks and calipers, I managed to warp the disks (standard ones) but brakes were always good so changed to TAROX disks (Sport Japan type). These are both x-drilled and grooved. With these I have never had a problem.

cossie gear is more than capable, ran them for years on my zt.
but get 16" rims and fit my frs brembo setup, 324mm discs and 4 pot callipers, i had to uprate front springs to stop it diving under braking hard.
