HELP Engine spec for 3dr
Hi Guys
Right after my last post regarding my engine spec shopping list Matt Lewis has come back with some good prices BUT i wanna make sure im getting the right stuff as back in the 90s we used to stick a massive turbo on and a adjustable boost valve and off we went
I would like to see 400bhp at the wheels so going for full engine rebuild with uprated bolts, bearings, 0.5 oversized pistons, group a gaskets etc also thinking airtec alloy rad & 60mm intercooler with siemens 55lb blacks and gt30 turbo, 3 bar map sensor, group a induction, uprated inlet cam, verniers, & a map by someone in the know! Do i need to do anything regarding the ECU?
Any help on this would be most appreciated

Speak to your tuner regarding your spec and ask their advice. ECU shouldnt need any modifying

As above, who isgoing to map it and what managment are you going to use? Is this the engine pete is building?

as above re ECU, but if you're having a new build the block & head should be flat so I'd go WRC/MLS gasket for peace of mind, and prob 6 long studs.
Edit - may as well get cut out's machined into pistons for cams too while you're at it.

I would get a thicker intercooler to start with.
Also if your staying with the standard ECU get a L8

Probably M A Developments as they seem the closest. Had a few people say the managment shouldn`t need to be changed but not sure about this?
Yes pete is building this for me, Do you know him?

STD 200 block inc 6 long stud, 4x4 pistons with valve cutouts, std/std crank, decent bearings etc, decent inlet cam and double springs.
WRC head gasket
Speak to M.A regarding turbo and management and injectors as i wouldn't fit 55's with a GT30 size blower

As above, I don't think 55lb injectors will see you the 400hp at the wheels that you are after

Would you not see 400bhp on std internals, surely it would be close?
t34.63
Greys
Rs500 intercooler
3 bar map sensor
and a live map on the correct chip?
Providing your engine is sound why go to all the expense?
