E60 M5's....

I was recommended mondial assist over warranty direct, as they have an excellent record for paying out with out quibble, I take it warranty direct have been good though?.
If you buy a car after 60k I think the premiums at least double with mondial. Myne had 56k on and is £85 a month, good thing is it remains that price for the term of ownership.
If you went for one I don't think you would be disappointed so long as you can get your head around the fuel, I fill up twice a week on average.
Had an M3 before the 530d and the M5 is on another level, I was after interlagos but ended up with black with silverstone 2 leather. Would like an exhaust but not that bothered about messing with it now.
I always think if you want something and can afford it just get it, long time dead and if you don't like it sell it!.

I seen one of these on the motorway and it had a different exhaust! I am telling you now, thunder! I was scared and I was quater of a mile away from it. White with black wheels and it sounded soooooo good. And no doubt like most things BMW, its been over hyped on the internet

^ Good advice.
TBH I wasn't considering an E60 at all, but recently due to prices I have been thinking of chopping in the E39. I know what you mean about the leather, it's a completely different car inside! I do worry about fuel though as I average 17-18mpg at the moment so it certainly won't be better than that haha!
Interlagos is the daddy.....hmmm.

You can claim for more or less everything though, it's well worth it.
Years back I had the engine let go in my e46 m3, wish I'd had warranty, lost half the value of the car in an instant as was quoted 6/7k to put a new engine in, which was about half the value of the thing!.

To buy, or just in general?
I'd say £7500, they're not worth a whole lot unforutunately. You could get one similar for maybe 500-1000 less though. I'm just milking the fact that it's an uber rare colour and trim spec it's just the miles and year that are against it being higher (124k & 2000 registered, but it's a facelift model).
I'm making sure it's all tip top now becuase I planned to keep it till next year, but if i do sell it noone can moan about a tiny bit of rust or corroded wheels. I actually just had part of it painted last week and I'm away to get the wheels redone in march, as well as replace a few mounts and bushes to stiffen it up again.

Cheers, i'll have a look!
No I bought mine about 3 years ago, the first time i tried to buy it I missed the boat, and luckily I was trawling pistonheads, when I was at Croft believe it or not, and saw it up for sale again. So I called and agreed a deal there and then and nipped over to Belfast the following week to pick it up. It's velvet blue, with champagne leather and carbide trim. I'd sell it for a newer one but it would have to be the same spec, and that is not going to happen unfortunately.

wow, i think there are only 1 or 2 with that colour spec interior and exterior!! looks nice. would love to see more pics.
mine is titanium silver with black heated heritage extended leather, but with sports titanium dash trim, which is really rare. have all the usual electric gizmos as normal. its a 2003 so the last of the e39's with the revised vanos units and block. 440 bhp as it has been remapped too.

Would be may/June time after the bonus but we'll see where we both are by then.
Ironically I've never even been out in one but they are legends and with me being nearer 40 than 30 I think m5 over m3 is the way to go.
You'll have to take me out for a blast if it suits us both mate????

The M6's are real VFM.

Yeah to buy mate, always been a fan of these and IMO they've bottomed out on price now so a good time to buy methinks.
