Can I cut the flange off and put a weld a T3 flange on it for a silvertop zetec turbo build?

Unfortunately he desnt have the facility to do it, but if it would work, then i can sorce the flange and weld it, just insure as to whether its will flow ok and bolt onto the silvertop.
