hang on, people need to understand what to post!!
the op has stated that she WILL be putting the drl's on so her question was where's best to put them not whether to put them on or not
if you've got any good suggestions then go ahead but whats the point in the negativety when she's already made up her mind?
we've all done things in the past that in hind sight we now know better but we need to make those mistakes to make better judgements in the future
and if nobody tried different things then we wouldn't have such things like rwd mk3 escorts then would we?

Now you first point about opinions, She was not asking for you opinion, so why give it if its not constructive?
To be honest you sound like a massive ballsack, but im blunt, if you dont like to read that then please ignore me.... LOL PARRR!
lol Not at all, im as calm as can be, just think you and you bum boy above just need to chill out and stop being nasty to someone you dont know, people on here seem love jumping on the bandwagon, dont be a sheep mate.
You two honestly are really pathetic, your replies are sooo childish its unreal, I mean im only 24, and im laughing at some of your replies, there soooo funny. It would be much better just to be like, you know what, that was a bit harsh, say im sorry petal, and it would of all been good. Now your just making yourselfs look a little bit silly. Just my 2p's worth.
But if neither of you like reading my reply, then stop being 'wet pussies', or put me on your ignore list.

the first rule of pf is "what does she looks like"
the second rule of pf is "you sure that's what she loos like"
the 3rd rule of pf is "how to look cool without looking stupid"
there are plenty mreo rules i can't remember yet so don't ask me
the last rule of pf is "irnoge all the rules and tell it like it is"
unless you are scared off up all the pf rules you didn't subscribe to in the same way as you didn't agree to get a picket by parking eye parking services for parking in a car park twice in the same day

I will be putting (white LED) day light running lights onto the front of my Ford Fiesta zetec, 2003 model.
The 2 lights are L6.5" x W1.2" x H0.5" (each)
I wanted them at the lowest point on the grill (that's below the bumper)- by the fog lights but my petrol head friend said it will be too low...
I then suggested the very top of that grill (just under the Reg plate) but he then said, its too close to the radiator and it'll melt the LED case and/or any of the wire casing.
(my lower grill is Horizontal and so the lights will fit nicely anywhere along there)
He said he would take off the ford badge and cut to sized gaps into the grill (between the two head lights) to fit the lights in there, and either leaving off or putting back the ford badge.
As wiring them up isn't really a 10 minuet job, i would really like to know if anyone else has put daylight LED's onto the front of their car and where the best place to put them would be.
- All help will be much appreciated!
Emily

If you're going to do something, then do it right, otherwise it'll end up looking 'chav'
I appreciate you are a student, but, you better off investing in a set of replacement headlights, that already have the DRL's built in.
You can get them, they are referred to as the 'AUDI R8 Look' and can be found here:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sonar-Ford-F.../dp/B009EPWFN2
I appeciate these are probably a bit more than you'd want to be shelling out for as a student, but these have the DRL's built in and are a simple 'plug & play'
EG, you remove your old headlights, fit these, connect your lights up & they will work
No extra wiring to install, no cutting into the bodywork/grills etc.
plus, when you come to sell your car on, take these off, put the old headlights back on the car & you can sell these on, via ebay & get some money back
job jobbed!

After reading the thread before posting, please, please, please don't fit these Ł7 cheap DRL's which you will have to start cutting into the bumper/grills etc to fit & do a 'bastardised' wiring job.
If you're going to do something, then do it right, otherwise it'll end up looking 'chav'

lol you cant quote part of one sentence, part of this sentence and part of that sentence, and then build your own sentence up with different words just so you make a point up lol, thats not how things work. lol cute though.
Look your missing the point, passionford is full of the same old people, who have been here for donkeys, everytime someone new comes along, 9/10 there going to be young, there going to do things which your going to think, what a nob, but unless they are asking for your opinion, then dont bother giving. How on earth do you expect this site to grow?
You also need to appreciate, some people can take jokes and other cant, and thats when you need to realise you shouldnt be giving any 'banter'. Its the fact that she was pretty much brand new to the sit, couple threads started and she was asking for advice and you straight away gun her down. Its people like you, and cossiejay that gives this site a bad name.

did i ask you your opinion of my posts? no, but you're giving it anyway, which is fine - it's how a discussion board works.
i wasn't joking or 'giving any banter' - i simply said that they will look shit and i would not do it and waste my money. that is my opinion and i will give it whether it's to a new member or a member who has been on here 'for donkeys'. nobody has to listen to it or follow it, it's just my opinion based on my past experiences.
i was told when i was younger not to waste money messing about with cars - i ignored it and then later on came to realise that it was good advice and i would've been better off if i'd listened - but that's how it will always be between the young and the wise and it doesn't mean that the wise should stop giving advice, whether they're directly asked or not.

they were your words in the correct order, nothing made up about it ![Wink](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)
you're missing the point - simply by posting you are inviting the opinion of all of the users of the board, even if that opinion is not something that you want to hear.

Without getting into the whole "what is banter / what isn't banter" blah blah
I don't understand the obsession of DRL's. I fully realise that on newer cars (post 11 plate IIRC?) they are a legal requirement, and it's something we have adopted from cars in the US, but I don't get why so many people are retrofitting them to older cars that don't need to have them. In most cases, even on newer cars, they look shit anyway - on older cars they look completely out of place and very "aftermarket". I've not seen a single car with a retrofitted set that look OEM.
But, as I said, I just don't get the "trend" of fitting them to older cars. You wouldn't go fitting aftermarket high-level/ABS brake lights - cos they look shit.
Volvo's have had a kind of DRL feature for years, in as far as they run the headlights all the time. But I don't remember everyone running around in a Fiesta or Sierra with their headlights on all the time. As said, most vehicles in the US have to have DRL's as a requirement, and up till recently, most were an oval orange plastic light, similar to a side repeater, on the bumpers that were constantly illuminated - I don't remember anyone running around with those fitted over here. Mainly cos they look shit.
I'm a member on a couple of Lexus forums, and there's a lot of talk on there about DRL this, and DRL that, either with LED strips, or with BMW style "angel eyes", and even with twin filament front indicator bulbs, and (only my opinion) they all look shit.
Just my input
