welding
is anyone on here a decent welder?
how long did it take you to get good? i've been practising on scrap stuff, and mates exhasut.
Its slowly getting the, but i dont fancy attacking my tail gate or door locks as yet.
Im using a migmate 130. worst thing im finding is starting it off coz u cant see nothing with the mask up. I've still got the crappy cheap hand held thing i got with the welder. do you recomend getting a propper one?
One thing that did cheer me up though was when ginge tried it, has any one ever seen a seagul with diohrea?? because that what he left on a lump of metal.
any advice would be appreachated coz my boot just dont look smooth enough at the moment.

i'll keep an eye out for a mask.
im using argon and 0.6 cable.
struggleing to set the amps right at the moment.
i was doing some at work and the guy set it up for me. it was laying some nice beads, and a few right angle bends came out good.
I'll keep at it.
can you weld stainless using my set up?

just finding my feet
hey my welding was spot on, considering ya cant see anything 
i was using the mask as a shield for all the splatter for me head and keeping me eyes closed
cheers for helpign me with the zorst ( should read cowie done all the work and i was more directing and vocal help )
the cow bell rattles all gone, its fell out and most the baffles seemd to have join it, sounds like a chav car again
im gona learn to weld though !!!!!, seems like fun, gonna get a hat first thoughas me fookign head hurts and ive got a bald spot now,
will it grow back

shame the woman brushed up your old hair, bit of blue tac and u could of hiden the bald bit.
Im running out of scrap material now, but ur welcome to use my welder if you need it.
i need to get good soon so i can get the harry hockly kit in my nova.
typical, every one decides to strengthen their cars at the same time and they have sold out of kits at the moment.
there are to many nova driving chavs about!!

just found this on ebay, seams cheap though to me, does anyone know if this is crap and dangerous, or will it be ok to use.

was telling him about the hit and hope technique we had and the welding mask to bat off all the splatter rather than prtect our eyes
think for 30 quid its gota be worth the risk
ill test it if ya want as my eyes are pooh anyway

ya seen the car simons looking at
, looks the part but he wants to add his personal touch to it, thinm he means as its a nice car he wants to add the "work in progress" look to it before he decides to sell it then rights it off again

it takes yrs n yrs of practice
dont even think of welding up ya door locks
ya need to know how to weld n shink the metal n not get it to hot or ya have a door thats fooked
if you was to weld the hole lock up ya wud have a kink in the door skin down the hole lenth of it
welding big stuff on a bench is childs play ya can do it with ya eyes shut
body repair and car underbody welding if very hard to learn
all rust needs to be cut out completly and new metal put in
