Default Favouring Classic/Retro Ford over Fast/Performance Ford ... Is this midlife crisis !

Lately I find myself becoming a bit disillusioned with the current modern Ford scene. I'm 43 and have been lucky to have had a 3dr, Esc Cos, mk 5 RS2000, S2 RS Turbo, 2 ST200's and currently a MK2 Focus ST which I love. I've had all the above cars for over a year at a time as my only car daily driver covering about 18 to 22k miles year. None of the cars have ever given any major trouble and none ever saw the inside of a professional garage, I've been doing the maintenance and servicing myself ever since I was a kid.
But I've been slowly browsing and have bought the odd copy of Classic Ford in preference to its more modern equivalent. I guess this is just part of aging (maturing :O)
So what's in store for me, sell the Focus ST and by an incredibly boring 'normal' car for everyday and buy a project/weekender :O !

I havnt got performance ford for 10 years and only just got into fast ford again this year mainly because of the iPad app BUT after seeing how many old ford classics turned out this year to shows got me thinking just like you ! I then used a mk1 Mexico for a few days and soon realised for me there better to look at rather than drive

Edit read the thread wrong.... Personally I love the look of the old stuff and prefer how the new stuff drive... I'm lucky as I've got a 3dr cos and focus Rs...so I get the best of both worlds... But you can't beat the rawness of 36psi throughy the back wheels old skool.. Tbh..!

I have every issue of Classic Ford lol.

I do like my 80s cars, but as Jay said they look better than they drive lol.

But saying that it's nice to get into a raw car, they have soul and character.

I couldn't drive an old Ford everyday thats for sure, they are better left as toy's and a run of the mill family car for a daily.
