Default alarm advice. need some help.

i currently swapping the carpet on a Saxo, all is well, everything is undone and its ready to come out.
When the car was new it had a Clifford alarm system installed. There is a large black box under the seat that is underneath the carpet and wired beneath that causes no problem, however a smaller black box in front of the hand brake marked 'proximity alarm' and a little volume dial (the car doesn't have a proximity alarm, it just has a button to lock and unlock and a button to dis-immobilise it when you turn the key) that was put underneath the plastic surround of the gear leaver permits the carpet being pulled out. Its been wired in on top of the carpet and through a hole. Its no big deal if i can disconnect it, it has a small plug on it much like a ford connector.
as far as i can see the wires that come from it go to an LED in the dash and button beside it.
the advice needed as i know little about alarm systems:
if i disconnect the plug will i be able to re connect it and go on like nothing happened or will it immobilise the car or some bollox?

i can get a picture if its needed. ive tried to describe it accurately.

Thats the proximity sensor, it has nothing to do with how the car is opened etc, thats known as "keyless entry"

It's as the name suggests and this is the input for the alarm, is one of the wires orange that connects to it?

Disconnecting/reconnecting should have no affect, so long as the alarm is disarmed

Look at the number of "pulses" from the LED when the ignition is switched on, after it's activated, you can then find the source of the trigger.

best thing i find with clifford alarms is to remove them wire by wire and throw them in the bin! never been a fan of them cause too many problems!!
