Default Amal valve problems..... maybe......maybe not..... probably!

Put smits amal valve on mine today and it was smoother boosting and only @18psi, while put mine back on and its nothing nothing nothing nothing!!!! 24psi!!!!! and at 20-21 it cuts and then carrys on ........ and when dis-connected my amal valve and then run the car - NO DIFFERENCE same boost same lag!!! would this mean my amal valve is FCUKED!!!! or could it need to be re-jetted as mine would only seem to have 1 jet and thats it...... or should i just get a bleed valve ???? ideas's / help / opinion's / abuse all wanted!!!!

ha ha ha, its a learning curve!!!!!!!!! i will buy one as soon as i determin its the amal thats fcuked!!!! and thanks again for the "loan" of your amal valve dude.

Sounds like you amal valve is knackered, I had the same problem with my previous Saph Cos. All the power came in at once and it wasn't until around 4000+rpm. Put a new amal valve on and it was back to normal.

absolutely NOTIHNG wrong witha bleed valve whatsoever. It's only when you out them in the hands of idiots that start twiddling (like me )

look in the FAQ / Essay sections there are some big posts about amal valve control and it'll answer all your questions

bleed valves are sometimes used to rectify problems elsewhere though. I tried it on my S1 when I was having boost problems, but then realised it was better to fix the problem than solve it with using a bleed valve.

Jim - Talking about cossies here! Without the amal valve connected the ECU has NO controll over the boost if something was to go wrong!
