heres a list of what ets unlocked when u do such an such lol,
for instance "if u complete all international A license u get a reyland metro"
http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/driving/...mo4/hints.html
dont look if u dont wanna know not cheating tho, jus tells u what u get for doing what
p.s. some good tips at the bottom i.e.
Stay in same gear in Automatic transmission
When using the automatic transmission option, hold R2 to make your car remain in the same gear. This is great for remaining at a given speed through a corner, or stretching the top end of a gear for a little extra speed/performance.

BEST car to have, by MILES is the 1970 Chapperal 2J
800kg and well over 1000bhp when modified
Cost me 1.2million, but all that took is a few goes on Capri selling the RallyRaid car, and flogging a few mad motas i was already fed up with

Just had a quick search about the Chapperal 2J, it seems by the hardcore GT4 gamers its rated the best car my a long shot on the game, and tho ive not used it much, i gotta agree, its foookin mad
The handling is unbelivable, even at 265mph i could get the thing changing directions faster than most the other cars do at at 50mph
Sooo much grunt too, only has 3 gears, but only needs 3, its fucked up
Its a ground effects car, hence the 2 big fans on the back, can read about the REAL one here--
http://www.mulsannescorner.com/chaparral2j.html
If youve not bought it, but wanna see how ace it is, keep starting the the top american series races till the 1970 2J is one of the cars running, at Seattle its beatable, but on most the other tracks, even tho its not as modded as it can be, the car will TOTALLY kick your ass No way in hell of winning that series when the 2J is a competitor unless you in one too. I won 1 race and came 2nd to the 2J in all the rest (pissing on the other 4 cars), so went n bought one

Right, im still awake
Just been testing out the 2J, done about 20races in it in the last 2hrs or so.
Its "interesting" to say the least
Power-
Unbelivable, as 800kg and 1000bhp+ would be. Deceptivley fast as got sooo much grunt and only 3 gears the mph is rising stupidly fast even tho the revs arnt.
You only really realise when you blast past mega power cars like they not moving
Only problem is it gets VERY light and twitchy at speed (i mean, big speeds, 200mph+ comes up soo easy), not so much loses grip, as changes direction STUPIDLY fast, so easy go wildly out of control when amking any slight adjustments to the steering.
Brakes-
Average to poor For such a light car you think theyd do better! But you can live with them.
Handling-
Erm, its DEFFO a car with a LOT of aerodynamic grip, but VERY little mechanical grip
Imagine 2 identical corners, but one has a huge straight before it so can get some speed up, one has a series of bends so you not going that fast.
If you hit that corner at speed, even 200+mph youl go round (trust me, El Capitan, corner after the start finish straight, can go round that at well over 220mph with no bother )
BUT!
If you hit that same corner at 50mph, your probably plough off across the fookin grass
Above 100mph your fine, below it, be careful!
Also has a REAL tendancy to "fly" More than any other car ive seen on the game.
Anywhere where there is jumps, crests, anything remotley likely to lift a wheel, watch out, as the 2J will take off and go into orbit
Basicly, the thing can go round corners as well as most LeMans GT1 type cars, but can pull away from them on the straights dead easy.
Handling tho, like i mentioned, is dead dead tricky, need to get used to the car on all tracks so you know the speeds you can go, as that thing, when you crash, you REALLY crash
What i found best to do is save your tyres and take it easy around the bends (even tho you know you can go round em soo much faster, its risky) and just muller everyone on the straights, the cars so fast you dont need to push it on the bends at all.
What you can even do is use the lead car as your pace car, as you can always go as fast as them (helps a lot as 2Js speed is dead deceptive), and then right at the end of the race, just blast past em n win

Good lad Stu. This game get's better each time I play it, spent a couple hours on it last night. Done another license test
One question, do you need to have the "Speacial License" or whatever to do the sirt/snow courses? I'm assuming you do as when I try to do them all I get is three courses and they are all free run crap no races
Finished the Jap championship with the R32 and won an RX7 race car, 410BHP, wern't bad, still not as good as my midly tuned 500bhp r32 weapon so sold the rx7 and just got a caterham 7 for the lightweight races

I've finished tuning my F150 SVT and thought I'd take a picture of it!
I didn't realise but the memory stick option works with any memory stick - I thought it would only work with Sony ones
Anyway - here's a pic of the beast, I changed the oil after the rebuild and in the garage it says it's 688bhp!
I've fiddled with weight ballast to put over the rear wheels but it's still an extreme handful, but switching the all the driver aids off is the most fun way to play this game!
The wheels are the BBS black centred split rims - lovely
Cheers,
Andy

Btw i'm not questioning the fact that it's a good game but it's not a simulator! It's got some serious realism issues

I have to disagree, I think the new handling 'physics' are excellent, a vast improvement on the older games. Also, the Nurburgring is extremely accurate, and thats from someone who's been there a fair few times.

Play a proper simulator like GTR (www.gtr-game.com) or NR2003 or Nascar Simracing, Grand Prix Legends, etc etc, and then see how realistic GT4 is.
I'll just say it again - it's not a bad game but I really wish it was more realistic and there was a PC version. The PS2 is showing its limits lately. That said - I'm still gonna buy one so I can buy a Fiat Panda and tune the balls off it

Have seen and heard one of them chapperal's at the festival of speed, they're fookin loud with them fans going might purchase one and give it a go, from how you describe it though it wont be much kop at the ring
I'm selling raids like mad to try and get the audi R8 (4,500,000!!) drove it on one of the driving missions and its incredible at everything
Most points in a non driving mission race (there 250pts a race!) is 154, MR2 against NSX's, had to drive the wheels of it though

BUT to be honest, with a bit of practice it would be really good, butlike i said, its all or nothing, your either flying round corners, or flying into a wall
I bought the Amuse Carbon R34GTR, tuned it to 850bhp and its only 1100kg. No reason, just looked cool
Bought the HPA motorsports Twin Turbo VW Golf R32 as well as its only 30k, thought id do some Euro races in it...
On the game the cars classed as AMERICAN, as the tuner is, even tho the car is a GERMAN, a fookin VW So is totally useless to me really

You sure? Im sure my R32 was only in the low 10s? But high terminal speed, 144mph or so i thnk.
I bought the Amuse Carbon R34 and modded it to about 850 and took that up the strip and i was in the mid 11s, piece of shit
Much faster than the time suggests tho, weapon on the track itself.
Tell you what tho, the driving missions crack me up Only tried the first 10 so far tho.
To complete em easy its not so much a case of how well you can drive, its how hard you can smash the other cars off the road, 9 of the 10 i did by doing that
You might get a 5sec penalty for it, but that not as long as it takes for the other poor coont to recover
Esp on the NSX GT racers one, bashed that coont so far across the gravel trap he was still smashed up against the far wall as i crossed the finish line
Even on number 10 against the 3 other people carriers, you dont smash em off the road, but you just go flat out across the 2 gravel traps, while them coonts slow down for the cicanes

i just fooked up. i bought the HPA tuning R32 Golf, which seemed like a bargin (less than a std golf, has 530bhp and 600ft/lb torque)
the plan was to compete in the tuning car championship on professional level. the car owes me 150k and is only worth 6k if i sell it.
i have full race suspension on it - the thing corner shite. anyone know some decent settings so i can ream some performance out of it?

Ive bought it too, and realised it was no good to me either
Not even drove it yet, just doing the Euro Hot Hatch Championchip- (sooooo easy in a Reno5Turbo and 12k a win!)
After that il have a play with the settings on the Golf, i can usualy make these sheds handle pretty well

Right, Escy, this my take on that Golf if its to be used in the Tuned car championchip (which incidently i used the RX7 D1GP car to win i think).
Got the Golf, bought EVERY mod that was available, put it on soft slicks, and bought a gay spoiler for the back.
Left geabox ratios as they are in the adjustable box, left diff ratios as they come in the adjustable diff.
2 degrees of camber at the front, 1.5 degrees on the back.
Dampers on three quarters
Ride height minimum
Spring rate three quarters
Full downforce front and rear.
Traction control at 1/4, ASM both at zero.
Did 2 races in that series to test, Fuji and El Capitan. Absolutley pissed them both, i was shocked at how well the thing handled Even with the mods i was expecting a bit of a understeering barge, but it was really light and responsive.
Really fast too, easy out accelerate the other cars in that series.
Soft slicks lasted till the end of both races no problem with me, tho if you have to drive mega hard (say if you crashed a lot an you need to catch up) they might go off by the end, but cant see it really.
ONLY problem was it was a bit twitchy at the back, too much oversteer (i thought itd understeer like fuck TBH!), if its too much for you you could either add a bit of oversteer ASM, or maybe try add a bit more camber to the back, maybe bmake both 2 degrees.
