i know that 2.0 auto scorpios have a 4.2/4.1 ratio diff but what about the 2.3??

All i can tell you is that Granny/scrop cos have a 3.64 7.5" open or LSD depending if it has TCA or not and can take 100 or 108mm lobro flanges. I have an open 3.92 7.5" if its any use?

is it expensive?
i could build my slip into it
its just something to liven up my 2.0 dohc
ive a 3.6 in it atm

a 2.0 16v should have a 4.2 in it
a 2.0 8v has a 4.1
a 2.3 16v has a 3.9
a 2.9 inc 24v has a 3.6
and a 2.5 diesel has a 3.3

Yes you can, i think they call it a hybrid. You can buy the tool off of ebay or use a bar between the teeth. You cannot mix sizes or flanges though. Search the forum on the link above and is shows you how to do it, with pics too.
