Ran a 13.7 1/4mile @104 mph

New on here with an ST2. Running about 280 bhp on mine, but was thinking what I could swop it for and to be honest there is nothing I could think of other than an Audi S4 and it wouldnt be an upgrade as such.
Prefer an ST2 over a 3 because I dont like leather, cloth is more breathable and grippy and I needed 5 seats.
Few economy and ability to do a 3 point turn are not the best, but not really an issue. Upset many a driver with its ability to move.

thinks its about 270 a year now. I love my st however when I was looking for one the cheap ones always seemed to be cat d or c's. I ended up paying £7000 for a low mileage pre facelift I love it and its not that bad on fuel. I average 27mpg and on a long run I got 38 +. I'll be keeping mine til it falls apart

yes tax is 270, just had my renewal I've had mine about 3 years and still love driving it, I've always usually changed cars about every 6 months! I went for the st2, it's got the factory twin climate, touchscreen sat nav, bluetooth and voice control etc etc. I tried an st3 but preferred the cloth to the leather. Only use it at weekends now so am tempted to start doing a bit more to it!

I was thinking the same but these were all non recorded mainly with fsh etc, although not particularly low miles.
The blue seemed the most common (popular) colour but there was a red I really liked and an orange with black alloys, all sub £5500.
Exceptional value.

my mong retard uni is trying the same policy on issuing permits to students, ie the less green the car, the less chance you get a car permit, regardless of need. bit silly considering most students can only afford shitty old inefficient cars. Yet spoilt rich kid funded by rich mummy and daddy will get a permit no problems as hes driving a 12 plate prius
Its getting too heavy handed for the actual difference in pollution between the different cars.

It doesn't stop there Warren, If I had a 1.0 modern car with very low emissions
I could rent a garage for £5 a week, The price increases with the more c02 and engine size
up to a whopping £38 a week.

Will do as you put it so nicely
I've just been having a look on autotrader and the ST's on there are silly prices. I'd probably get one at the right money but I wouldn't want a standard one. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places.
What are they like on insurance for an old fart?

What would you say is a silly price?
I only looked on autotrader and they seemed cheap?

I would personally never buy anything off a dealer. Both my cars so far have been ex-club cars and been absolutely spot on and for decent money. Relates back to the other thread about what mileage you would classify as high. Buy on condition and type of owner and for around market value. Stealers seems to be pricing ST's through the roof so either the demand is there or they are being their usual selves..

Haha behave Jay! You don't want to be on that slippery slope again
I've decided to SORN my ST over the winter as of the end of the month. It needs tyres, tax, a bit of paint and a fair few odds and sods that I can get done in slow time ready for spring.
Got my daughter's first birthday and christmas coming up too so don't really want to be draining my ahrd earned into the ST at the mo.

Google and it will bring up the STOC list they have.

ive seen an st3 for sale at a good price but the high mileage is putting me off,
#68
I used to be worried about mileage but any car is a risk no matter what the miles.
Main thing is if it has been looked after. Someone else may correct me if I am wrong as I only had mine 2 years and put 15k on it so not in the know as such, just what I have seen on line.

I want some adjustable camber arms on the back end to sort out the tyre wear issue and I've got a bit of a clonking at the front so might be a good time to get some polybushes on the go. Have you ever used polybushes? I've heard it can add a lot of vibration through the car which wouldn't be too good.

If you type st into autotrader they start coming up from around £4500,you'll need to sift through a few pages of st170's first but there were loads coming in at £5-5500,eBay seemed cheaper for the slightly newer ones but early ones fetching more.
A few dreamers still thinking a 56 plate ones are worth £8-9000 but generally £6-7000 gets you in the game with a really nice motor.
