Cosnada Failed its MOT
Well,
I'm not too gutted. It failed on:
Both headlamp alignment - sorted there and then
Fog lamp tell tale not working on switch
Both anti roll bar link bushes deteriorated
Slight weep from NSF brake line to caliper union
Exhaust too loud
Emissions too high - 7.5%
I have a spare switch for fog lamp
I have new anti roll bar links to fit complete with bushes
The brake union is a tweak, if not a new copper washer
Exhaust - just ordered a DB killer for it off the bay
Emissions - buggered! I need this thing setting up properly. It needs the fueling sorted as the exhaust is sooty and it keeps fouling plugs.
I am near Sudbury - who in the area can set this thing up for me? It has just had a new chip etc and so requires sorting. At least it is over fueling at the moment which is prefera ble to lean I guess.
It deffo needs proper mapping to get the best out of it - it only reached 20 psi of boost too. It should be 32 and trailing to 26.
I must admit though, it was awesome driving it again - I was a bit nervous lol but I can honestly say I can't wait to get it set up and use it properly.
Will I be ok driving to a mapper / tuner if I don't drive hard and on boost. Say max 60mph and no hard acceleration?

Too many posts.. I need a life!!
Power Engineering set mine up and have to say I was more than happy. Just off M25 at Uxbridge but I don't know how far away from you that is? Great for advice since too so highly recommended.

MSD mate. I know you can't copy them etc (don't wish to lol) but tuners are able to adjust fuel tables etc surely? I don't fancy a 265 mile trip when it can be done nearer to home.
Joe at GSMotorsports is the preferred choice on another forum I use. The lads travel all round the country to visit him and can't praise him enough. He is old school and not into bullshit but knows how to map a YB.

I set up the fuel pressure (it has a gauge on the fuel rail) to 3.5 bar with vac disconnected and blocked.
The base idle was set on hot engine (just pumps running) with ISCV disconnected to about 950 (best setting achieved without running / surging issues).
Swapped out to grey 403's with pintles cut right back.
Map sensor good - swapped for known good one and then swapped back again.
Fully rebuilt t34/.63 with -31 fitted (1/2 hole preload set on actuator rod).
MSD 380bhp chip fitted
Is originally a green top and so had hardware for CL and I retained this with the chip.
I have not swapped out the lambda sensor as yet.

Not entirely sane
Don't run the engine with the O2 sensor disconnected, it will kill the sensor almost instantly. The sensor heater needs power all the while the engine is running. I killed my wideband one in the space of 30 seconds when I lost power to my gauge.

It won't make any difference but Why would you want to induce an air leak while setting the fuel pressure by not blocking the pipe off?
You wouldn't want to block off the port on the regulator if that is what you meant?

TPS is a possibility. Will check tomorrow. Not sure why it would change tho.
Might be worth putting a new CTS in just to rule it out I guess. Usually when these have packed up it has meant bad running.
The fuel pressure must be checked with vac line off the regulator and the open pipe blocked off to prevent air leak. This is the standard procedure and the pressure should be 3.5 bar
