Default Car Toe Problems

Not only have i broken my toe, my 3dr is toeing out badly. it should be going for its first MOT on wednesday since being rebuilt but the wheels are visibly toeing out. I have adjusted the rod ends in as far as they go and i still can even get them straight. I have the pinch bolt (2wd) hubs and TCAs on it, would this make a difference? We have measured everything up against my dads saph and we cant see a difference anywhere, anyone got any ideas??

Any help would be mega

Cheers

It's a longshot....but how about taking it to a garage with proper wheel alignment equipment ?

grind the rod ends back a little, that'll sort the limiting problem out, sounds like the issues is with the 2wd parts to me.

Taking it to a proper place aint much help unless they can adjust it straight and grinding the rod ends down will mean taking nearly an inch off them which im not sure will still be safe,

apart from the pinch bolt/castlated nut fixing, is there any difference in dimensions of the TCAs between 2wd and 3dr? Especially between the hub and ARB fixings?

assuming you have x member & rack form a rwd car it should work unless the rack has the longer 4wd tie rods fitted
I think from memory they are about an inch longer

I think it should be a problem with the rod ends being too long. Perhaps you have Granada mk3 rod ends on it, those are longer than Sierra ones too, but will fit both the rack and the hubs.

We checked the rod ends and the rack 'drumsticks' and they are exactly the same as my dads saph. I now have a set of adjustable TCAs so will try them at the weekend and see if that helps,

Any pics of the TCA, hub and rod end? Perhaps that might show the problem?
