Can totally understand perhaps FOR SALE, and stuff like that being for the paying members but this room.. come on taking things, abit tooo far aint it

i wouldnt say its taking things too far, if you want to view all the forum and have access to all areas, then 20 quid to support a growing community is well worth it - look at the benefits and then ask yourself.

What if someone was spitting their dummy about a non-member?? How can they reply..or even know that someone isn't happy with them if they cannot access the room?

Its done to keep newbies away from arguing and improve the tone of the place as well as to remove the aggro from existing members who dont wish to be subjected to it.

Its done on the presumption that 90% of Gold members have been here a while and already understand the way things work and that we are not just a bunch of arguing tossers, that way if they wish to follow an argument, they can. New members will enjoy the place far more if this bollox is all locked away.

Its either that or we ban it alltogether as virtually every other car forum on the net does. What would you all prefer? I already know what the mods would prefer, its FAR easier to moderate it by just binning and banning.. far easier.

Ok. Thanx Stu. Fair comment bout the newbies, but not all non-members are new..and not all gold members are old, as you pointed out..but i understand that you have to try and solve the issue somehow & making it gold members only is easier than closing the forum to (eg) users who joined before Jan '05 type-idea.

Pity we can't all join in tho.....

Stu changed this room after myself & him had a 'rumble' over..................











get this, a relitive newbie, someone who had 70, yes 70 posts but had just got a GOLD membership, posted in the dummy room, something ending in 'or you'll have me to answer to' it was only a jesting comment, so in jest i replied something about, oohhh scared, get a life ya sad f*ck.
the person who i had replied to knows my missis, not that well, but she's one of MissT16's so-called 'good friends' (MissT16 is good friends with my missis & i used to knock about with her fella) i thought she would know who i was & take it in jest, especially seeing as it was in the dummy room,
Stu msn'd a link to the post, with 'here we go' written underneath it, i went back on the post, Stu had quoted the 'get a life you sad f*ck' bit & said that in his opinion i was out of order, i posted back that was his opinion, we had a bit of a slanging match (which he said the room was for) i was quite enjoying it but then Stu thinks
it got out hand, his missis was having a dig at me, fair play, but she started digging at my missis (sassyrs) which was a bit low, anyway Stu then told me that
that the person who i had called a sad f*ck (no.1girlracer) was offended by it & she had PM'd Stu about it. Stu did not make it clear that anyone was upset about it, or i would have made my case clear, instead, he intised me into an argument, then when it started getting a bit hot he banned me!!!
no1girlracer then said she did'nt know who i was, then she did, then she didn't,
then she said she had met me me once
she knows who i a'm, she used to go out with someone i know, she used to drive
past sassy's a lot & give us 'dirty' looks, i went round her house to collect a car before, but she dosn't know me!!!
she lied to me, Stu & MissT16, thus causing a whole lot of trouble.
I'm sorry for involving anyone else, i hav'nt posted for a few days, i've been sitting
back & watching things envolve.
