E46 328 MAF meter help. Urgent!
Appreciate some advice if possible...
I've just broken the MAF meter on a mates 328i. Car won't fire up with it connected now, but appears to be running fine with it disconnected.
Does it default to a "safe" map or something? He's got a 130 mile drive homw tomorrow, don't want it blowing up.
Can't get a new MAF until Monday at the earliest. Bugger.

If you take your time and not try flooring it in 5th etc it should be ok,a lot of the vw diesels run with it disconnected for thousands of miles with no issues.he may find his economy drop a bit and perhaps run a bit rough at lights etc but I can't see any major issues.

It will run with known failsafe defaults so probably be down on mpg and as said above maybe a little rough. Keep it sensible, should be no issues although running rich may possibly effect the cat. Lambdas will be working overtime.
