Hey all, been a while since ive posted a thread on here but a friend has announced he is selling his mk3 fiesta 1.1. ordinarily i would have no interest but its lowered on Gmax springs and has done 29K so is a nice looking car.
how much would it cost, turn key, to convert it to run a zetec and what sort of parts list would i need? i can do the work myself.
i once knew this, but i havent laid a spanner on a ford in probably 6 months and its funny how you forget.

I'm undergoing a conversion in a mk3 escort at the moment.
It's a really nice, cheap conversion.
Not sure if all this will apply to the mk3 foosty but I've had to get.
Engine, loom & ecu-£150/£200
Focus 1.8 flywheel
Escort 1.8 sump, oil pick up, dipstick & tube
1.8 water pump, alternator oil pump.
I'm sure someone will clarify what you need exactly.![Grin](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
Thanks,
Tom

wooo, easy there, nobody mentioned turbos! thats for the genuine RSTs and cosworths. this is a car i would be paying chips for and selling on. Turbos destroy fuel consumption and the reliablity if done on a budget (usually) is impared. a 2.0 zetec will go more than well enough in a stripped out mk3. It wont be for the track.
but thanks!
but thanks!

I've done this, but rebuilt the lump and replaced lots of under bonnet parts too. I'd say cheapest an easiest would be to get a 1.8 and drop it straight in, save mucking about! You can always fit the 2.0 cams for a bit more poke. Chuck a new cambelt on too for good measure, maybe a new water pump too, few sundries, Blum with loom and some appropriate mounts.... £250?

If you want a full engine, gearbox, ECU and loom and associated parts for a mk3 fez there is a lad breaking his Si track car on Fiestaturbo.com. It includes RS1800 engine, Si gearbox and mounts etc along with 2.0 mondeo DEEP ecu and zetec wiring loom.
He wants £350 for the lot, pick up in essex I think. Bargain and could prob do the conversion in a day.
