my old combi van did that 12 years ago, the rad was knackered, the old mans range rover bmw 2.5 dti did it aswell and that turned out to be headgasket after sniff test. both were fine cruising but high loads would overheat.

i assume youve checked/changed the stat ?

ive had a tractor do it aswell and stat was rusted solid half open, so would run super cool then slowly get hotter and hotter under heavy load.

my 07 astra van sits at around 83 but on a hill it goes to 90,is it actually over heating or is the temprature just rising.

do you have hot air out of the heaters?
