our own criteria for entry to rwd class is proven sub 13s 1/4m or better, and sub 12.5s for 4wd, this is however the minimum, and most if not all will be well within that.
fwd class is sub14s proven this year.

That is far more realistic and a team could be assembled easily enough if that was Mike's minimum criteria also

Firstly let me say, I would never attept to organise a team for this avent, and Mike you are the one doing it, so :respect:
However I do have to agree entirely with Spadge.
I think you should lower the standards for the cossy team, as otherwise I feel it will turn out like the other times....with 2 entrants
If it was me, which it isn't, I would make first a list of potentials....you know the elite cars.
Then ask them if they will be available/ready/interested..
Then drop the criteria for the others....even to T34 if you want, and see who would be interested/available/ready.
Then you have a top list of say 6 or 7 bigboys, then a further 20-30 interested parties.
Next, put them into order of proven statistics andobviously out the two lists, you'll have a top 10, and a dozen or so reserves.
This way, even though most would stand no chance at all, at least a full team of cossies would be fielded and it would be better than none there.
What out of interest is the 'criteria' for our most direct competitors?
EVO's
Scoobies
GTi-R's
etc etc

Mike, surely PF and FF will help by putting a small artice in the magazine for people to get in touch with you if they are interested in entering!
Also Ben and Nick et al may know of a couple of 'secret' cars that you don't know about

Why are you automatically assuming just because there are peeps on here not willing to enter that I haven't been able to look elsewhere ? I will only resort to asking for lower spec cars when I have exhausted all my avenues / favour call-ins for the high-specced ones.
This is for two reasons. Firstly, I want to enter the best team I can and secondly, I don't want to disappoint the lower specced people, by asking for them to participate now and then turning around at a later date and saying they are not needed .
The plan (as you know I always have a plan ), is to get a qualifying date sorted with Renton at Brunters and open this up to pretty much all the cars that I think would do well on the day, and then pick the best of the bunch.
If this fails to happen because of the cars being unfinished, then I will pick a suitable team.
The ONLY reason that the numbers were down in 2004, was because I was ASKED by the organisers that if I couldn't field a team of top cars that it would be help-ful to them to not put forward any reserves due to the event becoming over-subscribed. I even explained this to you lot last year and it does irk somewhat, that the same old people have such a short memory .

If someone was out specced then tough shit.
If I was number ten and got pipped by a 10sec/170mpher, then all good in my book

Lee,
Actually, I was going to PM you and ask you to run in the following way, as I hoped you wouldn't be able to resist my suggestions .
1. Do the handling .
2. Do the top speed runs (using race fuel to protect the engine).
3. Do the quarters, but don't abuse it off the line (I'm sure you'd still get 11s ).
Chris,
Yor suggestion has one fatal flaw, we could not safely have more than 20 cars at Brunters for the qualifying .

Mike its not always the best spec'd cars that put in the best times as you well know I think i am right in saying that Lee (tibb) got by far the best quarter time at totb 2 out of all the cossies there! His times at that event would still beat most of the so-called big boys 2wd times down the quarter and he had what? 450hp inc nos!

Ben at PFs offer to put a thing in Performance Ford is a VERY good idea.
The whole cossie world dont revolve around this forum, so make sure you take up his offer
Never seen a car accelerate like that thing, not even Keiths.
I bet you saw that same run I did at Santapod, with the bogged launch, the stutter and then the thing just TOOOOOK off, never seen ANYTHING like it in my life That was the 155mph Terminal run
Yup, was absolutley unbelivable I dont think even the 155mph terminal speed did that justice, ive NEVER seen a car accelerate like that in my life
Infact ive got that run on video somewhere....

Spadge,
I think you will find that it was around 430ish plus NOS .
And I understand that, hence why I would look 20 cars to be at the qualifying, so that I can pick the fastest . I know this is all a bit difficult for you to understand, but please try your best .
I have already emailed Dave from PF .
