make your own, crack it, distil it, blend it, test it and wack it in the tank, you can make high octane fuel at bloody home, just been looking it up, mostly ethanol based anyway.

ingredients can be found on Wikipedia, think youll find it very easy to obtain and then create it yourself, no more paying Ł6,000,000 per litre.

on the other side id just like to add, the Government really do like fu**ing you in the a**e over a large barrel and telling you its not really happening.

at the end of the day if you dont consent to it then by law your not bound to it, not many people realise that and dont get enough public partitions together to tell the government to stop fu**ing us in the bum

you would still have to pay fuel duty

There are limits on certain home made fuels on how much you can make for personal consumption without paying fuel duty.

If significant numbers of people did it, the limits will just come down. Prime example was the popularity of LPG saw its demise and the increases in fuel duty on LPG.

Until there are fundamental changes in the way our economy raises funds, the motorist will continue to be abused for the blatent cash cow we are.

And we dont have a choice if we want to drive.

you can make 2500 liters of bio diesel before you get taxed on it,but it seems a ball ache to make as to put a pump in your car,and most common rail diesel's really need a 50/50 mix,not sure if petrol has the same guide lines.

properly made bio diesel will run in 99% of diesels no problem whatsoever.

its poor mans "bio diesel" that often needs a 50/50 mix. ie cleaned and filtered vegetable oils.

Proper biodiesels are chemically different to vegtable oils and have a much lower viscosity.

Where home brewers go wrong is not fully removing the soap and not removing the solvents meaning the fuel can damage seals.

But ignoring that, if lots and lots of people did it, the limits would go down. The popularity of people using vegetable oil for fuel is singlehandedly responsible for the rise in costs of catering/retail vegetable oils which used to be dirt cheap. Also it means even waste oils are expensive to buy. 5 years ago, yeah it was great as often youd get the waste oil for free or little cost, however those times are gone for good.

For most people its a case you have well and truley "missed the boat" when it comes to home made fuels and in reality you just dont save much money any more when you consider costs and time to make it.
