Internet Sending-Recieving and Connection Speed Test.
Is there a program or somthing i can use to tell me when my PC is sending somthing or recieving somthing?
On the old internet setup it had 2 PC screen icons and then lit up when there was "traffic" but not anymore.
Id guess the firewall could tell me stuff like that, but its dead complicated, so summat easy that gave me a list of current traffic/connections (or just told me when there was some like before) would be nice.
Also, how can i tell what speed my connections running at? After a quick blast on Kazaa id say its fast as fuck, but dont know if thats the best it can do as obv it depends on the people on the other end too...

stsve, probably some overheads from stuff like windowsupdate, MSN, various services etc. etc.
if youre that worried, install some firewall software (try zonealarm, its free) infact if youve got broadband, a good antivirus and firewall package is a must IMHO and make sure its automatically updating daily

if its a program you recognise (ie MSN, Kazaa etc.) let it in...
if its something called NASTYINTERNETVIRUS.EXE dont let it in
ps bring up a command prompt (start... run... command.com) and type NETSTAT
that will show you all current active connections to and from your PC
youll be surprised at just how much is connected even when youre just sitting idle!

to see the actual traffic using your connection try a packet sniffer like Etherdetect : www.etherdetect.com
it logs all incoming/outcoming data
