Just wondering what tubing people use between the compressor housing, amal and actuator.

I have been using silicone tubing for years on a T3 turbo but wonder if this is up to the job for pressures approaching 30psi on a T34 ?

I used rubber fuel injection pipe I bought from Halfords running a t4 +20psi, tbh your tubing should be ok I'd think.

silicone hose will be fine, i've had a couple of BAR through the stuff for a while on an older engine spec without failure.

3mm silicone pipe on mine works ok on T34, just put some small 3mm cable ties on at each end, had no trouble at all!

Rubber hose, wouldnt put that shite silicone near important pipes like that

Fuel hose it will be then i recon, about 7mm probably to get it on the amal valve pipes.
I probably had 3mm silicone hose as it is so stretchy

just make sure it is held tight at the ends as you don't want it popping off!

If it's good quality hose and a size smaller...ie 6mm instead of 8mm, then usually no clips are required.

But it if there are no barbs at all then clips of some kind should be considered essential

Again, a lot will depend on the quality of hose and nature of hose end/barb etc.

Personally I have put on small jubilee style clamps, it finishes it off, I'm not a bufty in that sense I just wanted it to look factory and well built and you definately won't have to worry about it coming off either, so it's a no brainer IMO.

As with silicone....I would never use jubilee style worm drive clamps on any small diameter hose. They do not clamp round.

Always use the correct clamp for any given hose size.

Rubber piping all the way. I think the blue silicone looks amateur and tacky too.

As said rubber fuel hose or diesel leak off pipe looks miles better than silicone.

we use fuel clips on our pipe as said above they clamp all the way round,

silicon hose gets brittle when it gets hot, not good for turbos!

just good old fasioned rubber vaccum hose does the job perfectly.

i've never had any issues with 3mm silicone vac hose for actuator/wastegate, never split or gone brittle, admittedly i change the spec and hoses every year so no time to fail really.

depends on the silicone hose you use. There are some proper silicone hoses used in vacuum processing at temperature such as with pre-preg carbon fibre production that can handle both the temperature and the pressures necessary. The stuff i got has a much thicker wall than the usual silicone hose used for vac lines on cars.
