Hi all

I took my car (10 plate mk7 fiesta zetec s) for it's second service this morning at the place it was purchased from 18 months ago (smc uxbridge) not all has gone well. On collection of the vehicle the lovely man behind the desk (wanker), says we can not get your locking wheelnuts undone and we have snapped are tool (locking wheel nut key) trying.

I then explain to the man that the wheels on my car have not been touched since the last service at said garage. He then replies all technicians use torque wrenches. So he's calling me a liar at this point. So voices now raised a little, i then tell the man it still has original tyres, original brakes and no puncture repairs and there is no reason why i would have needed the wheels off! He then replies as you work in a body shop is there anything you can with it? I tell him I'm not fixing something I haven't broke. He then asks me to take my car and leave as He thought i was getting aggressive towards him (a bit of shouting and swearing) and call the manager on Wednesday! So I done as told an left.

I know I shouldn't have shouted and stuff at the man because it don't help resolve the situation, but I don't like being called a liar and more to the point I don't want useless fuckers working on my car and breaking shit. I bought a new car so I wouldn't have grief like this. If I wanna get my hands dirty and waste my weekend I'll get the xr out of the garage. Not on a car that is still under manufactures warranty!!!

What can I do to make sure this gets sorted with out costing me time or money?

find out if they have a facebook or twitter page and then phone up explaining you will tell the world what happened, say sorry you got upset but calling you a lair was not good customer service was it ? and aask them if they have a telephone number fords warenty department!

 

i would have asked to see someone higher in authority and refused to leave until then.
you will ring on wednesday and the guy may deny all knowledge of this happening.did you log the complaint or similar?

hopefully,they are decent people and will sort it out for you

 

I didn't log a complaint i wouldn't know how to. I asked to speak to the manager of service department but he's away until wednesday.

 

thats what happens when you go to a main dealer for servicing, over priced and incompetent monkeys straight out of 1 day mechanics course.

i would have beat the living shite out of him all over the showroom and shoved his broken locking wheel nut right up his balloon knot.

take it elsewhere mate and put a snotty letter to head office about how you were ill treated at one of their excuse of a caddy shack dealerships
