Default private plate querie

could not find the right section on the DVLA website, have a private plate currently on retention certificate and now want it put onto a car, what forms do I need if any and do I have to pay a fee now too ?

if its on retention V778 its all paid for, just fill in the details on there of the car you want to assign it too

If you've got a local office they can do it there and then if you take all the docs in.

Yeah, I know they were on about it a while ago. My local'ish one in Reading go moved to Theale - which was better for access, parking, etc and then they were on about closing it down. Like they don't earn enough

if my local dvla place is anything to go by, it would be quicker to deliver it to them, by Donkey than go down there and wait!

I always do mine through the post...takes 5 days tops for me.....

last time i did it over the counter to swap the plate off my saph to the escos i ended up with both private plates (escos already had one) ditched and the 2wd on a M plate and the escos on a G plate muppets!!!!!
