Mate,

We got shiiiiiiiiiit hot water pressure in our gaff. All the cold comes off of the mains, so no problems there.

We live in a ground floor 1 bed masionette and the hot water tank lives in a cuboard in the bedroom, the tank itself lives exactly 4-5ft off of the floor and the hot water pressure in the bathroom is not bad as its the room next to the bedroom, the main problem is the kitchen.

It takes ages for the hot to come thru there and when it does its a pathetic dribble.

What are your suggestions?

If you have good pressure in the bathroom but not the kitchen you may have a bit of dirt stuck in a ball valve or something.

Is the pressure O.K. when you first open the kitchen tap and then fade away or is it really low pressure all the time?

Im afraid there isnt much that you can do as you cant raise the head of water as its a maisonette.

You could get a system called a megaflo but it is VERY expensive and overkill for your house TBH

I bet the kitchen tap is a mono block tap and has 10mm feeds on it ,if so go get a new tap with 15mm feed pipes and it will flow a lot better, the 10mm feeds are only any good when used on high pressure hot water like on combis or pressure cylinders, it will also get warm quicker

You can get 15mm braided hoses that will screw into the bottom of the Tap

So i dont have to change the whole tap assembly?

I'm assuming these have a 10mm thread but are 15mm pipes.

A question, how will that help the pressure or flow? As all that will be happening is that the 15mm pipe is being extended by say 12" but still going back down to a 10mm hole?

Just a bit confused.

they will be either 1/4 or 3/8 it would be better to get a new tap that is better suited to low pressure hot water as just changing the hozes will not make a huge difference if they are 1/4 thread as it goes into the tap, a 3/8 thread should be just about ok but the best would be a normal tap or a two hole mixer as they have 15mm / 1/2 conections but that probley means a new sink ?
Find out what size you have first and like i said if 3/8 try new hozes if not a new tap but get one with 3/8 holes and 15mm pipes if still not good enouth then its new sink ? and 2 tap hole mixer or two single taps this is what it should have had from the start, then that is the best its going to get with out going for a pressure system
