044 pump ???
Is it purely an exercise in making pressure, or do you need it to flow fuel at the same time ?
They still maintain good flow up to around 110psi, after that it falls off. Although I can think of very few applications you'd ever be using that much pressure.
depends on the 044 pump, apparently there are two types. one which will hold 5BAR and peak at 6BAR and the other that peaks at 8BAR and will hold just over 6BAR.
part numbers are different, but the later are rarer IIRC.
they both flow about the same 200ltr/hr just one can run higher pressure.
8BAR would be handy if not wanting to change injectors e.g. i have siemens deka IV's and they run 630cc at 3BAR static, but can flow 900CC at 6BAR static.

And 5/6 bar is fuck all, any 044 will easily achieve that and flow well all day long.
And an 044 flows well in excess of 200 litres per hour even at 5 bar.
And the regulator controls pressure not the pump. So what's all the peaking and holding about ?
Some misguided people call another Bosch pump an 044, when it is their motorsport pump, sold under a different part number, and is allegedly capable of supporting around 10 bar of fuel pressure while maintaining sensible flow. Although very very very few people would ever need this, and is a total waste of money mere mortals buying it as it doesnt actually offer any more flow.
just after i wrote that i went looking for the elusive pump, part numbers are not the same
i did think it was odd, i was mistaking the 040 pump as that operates at 6.5BAR.
if the demand is higher than the pump can supply the fuel line won't be maintaining the pressure, so will drop below the operating pressure that the pump can supply.
044 does indeed flow at 300ltr/hr, i'm full of mistakes today
