part numbers are different, but the later are rarer IIRC.
they both flow about the same 200ltr/hr just one can run higher pressure.
8BAR would be handy if not wanting to change injectors e.g. i have siemens deka IV's and they run 630cc at 3BAR static, but can flow 900CC at 6BAR static.
There is only one 044 pump. Hence the 044 part number. Anything that claims otherwise, isnt an 044, and will carry a different part number
And 5/6 bar is fuck all, any 044 will easily achieve that and flow well all day long.
And an 044 flows well in excess of 200 litres per hour even at 5 bar.
And the regulator controls pressure not the pump. So what's all the peaking and holding about ?
Some misguided people call another Bosch pump an 044, when it is their motorsport pump, sold under a different part number, and is allegedly capable of supporting around 10 bar of fuel pressure while maintaining sensible flow. Although very very very few people would ever need this, and is a total waste of money mere mortals buying it as it doesnt actually offer any more flow.
