Cadwell Park has been on lockdown all week with a film crew making a movie about James Hunt. Came by today and noticed a Marlboro liveried Formula 1 Car on the track plus old style Dunlop banners and haybales dotted around the track.

Crew are staying at Kenwick Park Hotel for those that know the area so once we are allowed back in to deliver I will try and find a bit more out.

 

A mate of mine who actually trained me to be a mechanic was personally asked to do this movie he's driving one of the cars a chevron b27 it's gonna be a good film from what I know with Russell crow playing hunt iirc there going round 4 tracks filming 4 days at each

 

Hope they do a good film I guess its the championship between Hunt an Lauda but russel crow as Hunt ? hes a bit short to play Hunt !

 

tbh honest dont hold me to crowe playing hunt, but he has a significant role in the film thats for sure i was told about this well over 12 month ago i had forgot about it tbh with looming wedding in 2 month ill give him a call tomoz and did some dirt!

the chap i know used to build the chevron race cars with paul bailey, they were both blackburn lads that worked at the factory building them back in the day obviously bailey went on to do what he has done, kevin went on to work at various f1 teams and in between race himself, now hes a retired world of priceless info, stories and contacts

 

Might have to pop up to kenwick for a nosey around pretending I'm there for a round of golf. sod it. might have a cheeky 9 holes while there

 

Its called "Rush"......Ron Howard is directing it......About the 1976 F1 season when lauda nearly got killed when his car crashed...but 4 weeks later he was racing again and missed winning the title by 1 pont to James Hunt....

Search google and some of the on set pictures are superb, its nearly all filmed now, the have been at Snetterton, The Ring and all over filming it.....

Delivered at Cadwell today and they said the bloke who played the lead role in Thor is playing James Hunt, can't remember his name but he would carry the look off pretty well.

Supposedly out in 2013

 

Ade Edmondson has been in Louth this week Stu filming his Ade in Britain show. Alot happening in your neck of the woods at the moment plus next month Smokey Joes (old packhorse) is on Four in a Bed.
