Default Classic Mini Weight?

How much are these likley to weigh?

The other half wants to get one from Cornwall and I'm the only one who has a car with a towbar.

My other halfs Dad is on an older Licence so he will be fine to tow but wondering if I should be ok to tow?

Although instinct tells me a Mini and a smallish trailer are going to weigh more than 750kg's

Stolen off the web:
The original Mini may weigh between 580kg and 660kg, and late-1990s models weigh approximately 700kg.

Just read elsewhere that aslong as the trailer does not weigh more than the car and overall the car weighs less than 3500kgs I should be fine?

My car weighs 1.4 tonnes unlaiden so providing the trailer and mini are less than that I should be fine?
Cars a 2002 Peugeot 406 2.0 HDi 90 saloon by the way.

God it's all confusing

Not alot at all, the actual car is around 500-600KG.

The A series engine is a vast amount of the cars weight I should think

So out of interest is that a 1L or 1.3 she is getting?

I can make sense of that, the trailer can't be heavier than the car, which is extremley unlikely I should think, and the combined weight is no more than 3,500KG which is 3.5 tonnes isn't it?

So yes you will be fine.

There very easy to work on, and a very interesting car, the gearbox is in the sump, and it will have an SU carb, unless it's a more modern one, then it will be EFI.

As the saying goes everyone has to have a Mini in there life, not those shameless BMW rip of things, which are nothing like Minis!

3.5 ton maximum gross weight I.e car and trailor, but trailor must not exceed 750kg all depends what the unladen weight of your trailor is.

Thats what I thought the case was.
Even more confused now. The Direct Gov website dosen't give you any figures at all

I would expect the trailer (It's come form of box trailer) to weigh around 200kg's + so I'm stuffed in that case.

http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring...cles/DG_192285

Got it.
Second bullet point down...
a trailer over 750 kilograms maximum gross weight as long as it is no more than the unladen or 'kerb' weight of the towing vehicle (up to 3,500 kilograms in total)

I should be fine
