Who runs this, and is there a rule of thumb that says it's perfectly ok?
I saw a car with this setup not long ago and they looked perfectly ok to me, but someone said they were stretched and this wasn't a good idea?
I'm totally ok with it but obviously I'd rather get some good advice before I buy a new set.

FYI-I have a rubbing issue with my wheels, (arches are rolled) and running 8X17 ET38mm RL7's with 215/40/17 tyres, I suspect since I have a brake kit that the offset(bells) are effecting this somehow as it' didnt rub with 18's and 215/35/18 tyres with 35mm offset wheels on standard brakes.

Going for a set of parada's, how good are these, i have shit tyres at the moment so anything is an improvement anyway, but opinions welcome.

chop had 205 on his 8s and it looks slightly stretched but not over the top. id be happy running it on my car.

paradas are ok. shit in the wet, ok in the dry but not very stiff side walls. my mates 380bhp 2wd saff had these on and it felt a bit jelly like, went to t1r toyos and made it a different car. cheap and cheerful tyres really.

Ok cheers, yes i had a look at his also, and another car, looked fine to me but someone else I know said it's "wrong" so i just wandered what the overall consensus was. Don't really want to have to go 205's as its a 4x4 and I need to stick them on the back as well or mess around with different profiles to get the radius the same.

hiya bud i used to have 205/40/17 yoko A539's on my 4x4 8" wide no issues at all then swapped to 215/40's prada spec 2 awesome in the dry not so good in the wet

can you not see where its catching and sort it? i cant see it being the arches itself. a customer has 225 on front of his saff, its low aswell and dosnt catch.

Yeah I've looked, it catches on the arch lip and the liner, it's worn away the paint to the primer where it's been rubbing. I know what you mean it's a royal pain in the arse, i never had any issues with bigger wheels and standard brakes, must just be a funny combo that's throwing it out too far.

I agree with Jimbo it's a strange one. As I run the same offset RL's with a 4 pot kit....

Rog - Is it catching on the front lug where the liner attaches to the wing? (Rectangle bit with 2 square holes?? ) I had mine removed years ago when the arch was rolled and it's fine....

As trying to get my head round where you said it's catching.

Smit, it catches on the top of the arch, but I know the bit you mean, I've "moved" that bit out the way
