Default Escort Rs turbo head gasket problems!!!

hello guys, head gasket went 5 weeks ago took the head off cleaned her all up decked the block. Cylinder head was skimmed & cracked tested. New original head gasket new head bolts etc put her back together followed torque settings. All timing done Turned engine over by hand to check everything was ok. Everything done to the book perfect. Went to start her up wasn't fuelling so took the injectors of to bleed throw and spark plugs so it will turn over faster then started to spit water out of no3 when it first went it was no1 I have since then changed it all again! New head gasket etc etc and it's now gone on no4 !!,,,??? I have no idea why the head gasket is not sealing?? Any help would be much appreciated.

Can only assume that the head or block is like a banana mate!

Yup. sounds like one of them is warped. Time to take it apart and test it all again.

do you know any one with an engineering "surface plate" and a laser pointer? put the head gently on the surface plate and you can then use a laser pointer in the dark to check for warping, same for the block but much more of a pain because you need to be gentle not to damage the surface plate as they weigh a lot more! failing getting a surface plate you can start with a realy high quality steel rule!

good luck

good luck

You could get a piece of steel decked so you know it's flat, and use feeler gauges on the block/head to check for flatness

Strip down, use a flat engineers rule on the surface and shine a torch behind it, that'll show up any gaps/warping. In 18 years of being a mechanic and 100s of head gasket jobs I've never had a block machined, was there a problem with the block? I'm not an engine builder so excuse me if I'm sounding thick lol

Are you soaking out all the oil/water from the head threads in the block? You may be getting false torque settings due to hydraulicing the head bolts? Just a thought like?
