painting a roll cage advise
after weeks of debate i have finally decided to paint it white.
1.but do i paint or spray it?cant be arsed to powder coat it as i'd have to travel to far.
2. Would frozen white look shit against my diamond white saph?
3. Would hammerite do the job if i wet and dried it after? (its a long shot)
Cheers

Not sure how white tins would apply.
But I painted mine black using "Fortress" satin black from B&Q. Mostly as it used normal thinners and hammerite is a pain in the hole.
But for best results I used one of those little square short bristle pad brush thingies they sell. Normal brushes were totally shit, those little ones put on a nice smooth coat.
When new test somewhere else first as there are some loose bristles and they make a mess. Once it's clean paint away.
Also found them impossible to clean properly, but new pads arent dear anyway for additional coats.

using a normal brush was complete and utter rubbish even with black. I seemed to use loads of paint yet coverage was terrible and very streaky.
I even primered some and rubbed it down first to try and ensure that didnt happen after a friends cage didnt turn out well with hammerite.
Normal brush = shite.
Use those small flat square brushes. They're handy and quick too, and can be used off the handle for access into awkward spaces. Although for some corners a normal brush is still needed.

Again, I found it's all down to the brush.

why do you always hammer on about what you think is right time & time again, using a brush on a car is a total bodge .rant over.

I rather doubt it.
And who is Andy ?

Those other ones are surprisingly good and very easy to get it even.
Just depends how much time and money you want to spend on something that is going to get scratched in use anyway.
