Default Can it be done?

Hey people,
I need to remove a 1.4 cvh engine, but really want to leave the box in place.

So i want to take the engine up and out, can it be done this way. If so, do i need to remove anything other than engine mount, bellhousing bolts, manifold and bonnet?

I have just repaired one cvh, head and clutch which was a big job for me, now i need to swap a 1.4 cvh for the same.

Thanksfor any help!!

The box can be removed without engine so I can't see why not, but would be a lot more hassle than lifting the lot out and putting box on new engine then dropping back in.

earth leads, accel cable, petrol pipes, coolant pipes, alternator and starter might be a idea

The head is off so nearly all the pipes and cables are off, i'l do the rest tomorrow.

I dropped the box and engine last time and don't want the job again, i want to keep it simple even if it's more work.

So the pullys will clear the bay and there is enough room to slide the engine off the gearbox dowles?

Thanks!

Cheers!

Put a jack under sump side of gearbox to get the angle so the bottom pully isn't scratching the inner wing but yes will come out top leaving box in situ

yes it can be done, i always used to to it this way on my xr2 in various setups.
easy peasy and saves undoing a few things.
