Barrell is £35, the read your key and make it there and than to suit. Then fit it yourself.

You can get a new blade for about £3.
I had to do the same for my Focus as it was well past it!

You're still gonna have to get the key coded though so there's an hours labour

Not if you just replace the blade at the bottom of the key

My Focus was my Mums for 8 years whos a district nurse. The key and ignition barrel were destroyed.
Got a new blade for my key and a new ignition barrell for less than £40!

Depends if its a remote key or not though, if it is then like you say, just change the blade, if its a normal key it will need to be coded. Unless you can dig the chip out of the key and swap it lol

If it's the blue key, it costs £135 inc vat for a complete coded and cut remote key.
Glad we don't have to pay, leased vans, and they want the van all day.

And you can't change the blade on a genuine Ford key, the fob is glued together, battery is not replaceable it's recharged whilst in the igniton.

That's without the cost of the barrel and fitting.

We get that with all the vans we have, they don't book to the hour only to the day, so yours may be done at 8am or not till 5pm.

Last time I tried to use a Ford Rapid fit centre, not Kwikfit, they still wanted to book it in.

If it's the blue key you can remove the black section at the bottom (the Blade) and replace it for around £3. You can take them apart as I did on a hire van a few weeks ago
