known this bloke for 21 years

he's was in the shit as his daily driver's fucked so Me bieng the good samaritan i offered him the use of my 2003 mondeo tdci ghia.

this was last november, i did say just keep it aslong as you need it(thinking it would be a few weeks )
(weve gone through xmas and various party's in my work's van just so he could have my car (missis thinks im a mug)

WELL SHE'S RIGHT!!!!

car came back last wed 29th feb at 10:30 ... one and a half hours before the tax run out
(now he said he was on his arse for money and could'nt help out with the tax ) or the half a tank of diesel that was in it.

It was late when i got back that night so i cast my eye over the car the next morning before work

this is what i found...

boot carpet stained with oil and dirt


load liner sodden with oiul and broken from having something heavy on it


o/s/r door trim damaged


tow ball cover missing

drivers foot well

centre console

passenger foot well

centre arm rest

centre air vent broken

centre air vent control damaged

rear window trim scratched


carpets stained inside the car and it smell'd like a fucking farm!!!

I was proper upset ( nearlly cried )
felt let down as i thought he was a proper m8.
texted him and he acted bumb like he didnt know the car was damaged
said his son vac'd the car out for him the day befoe it came back

fell out with him dont want fuck all to do with him
dont want a penny for the repairs as i can get most mits from scrap yard
And its a cheap way of getting rid of someone who treats you like shit.

if he thinks that this is a acceptable way to treat friends possesions
then he aint no friend of mine.

one of if not my best m8 for the last 20 odd years thats why its hit me blind side
im a easy going kind of guy and take most things in my stride but it made me feel sick how he could disrespect my car like that
ok its not a rs but its my family car and i dont use it much
ive probably put 10k on it in the five years ive owned it.
but i do keep it clean and tidy and to see it like that after lending it my m8 just head fucked me.

ive vac'd the car out for two hours today and the missis helped me by wiping all the hard plastics down
ive had the boot carpet cleaned and its come up like new just gotta get the load liner now.
ive cleaned the glass and bought a magic tree
its slowly getting back to its former glory

i got a loan of my mates van other week as mine was in getting oil and filter changed .
i washed and hoovered his van out and filled it with fuel as a thank you for i new he would not take any money for the loan of it .

I've had mixed experiences over the years.
Lent a pug 306 d to a mate and it came back literally with rubbish and litter up to the door height,no DERV from a full tank,damaged bumper and scuffed wheels.
He offered to fill it with red for me and his missus emptied a 1/4 of the rubbish then got "too tired".
However lent my passat to a neighbouring unit and it came back valeted and full of DERV!!!
Some people are just cunts though,I lent a guy my trailer once to pick up a recovery he was making at least Ł200 on,trailer came back with a flat tyre and the ramp strapped to the frame,the bolt to tighten it had been lost.he offered nothing and said the tyre was flat before he started.
I went over his garage a day later to get some tyres swapped over from a set of rims and the cunt tried charging me Ł40!!!!
I just walked out without paying laughing thinking it was a joke and he turned up at the unit an hour later ranting and raving.when I mentioned the fact he'd had free use of a trailer that made him Ł200 profit he recinded.next day he asked to borrow it again,told him the tyre was fucked and he never asked again.

Iv lent a mate my car a few times and it's always come back bob on, he had my st and the gear selector came off the gear box, he rang me absolutely bricking it, went over told him don't worry it's a accident. quotes of silly money for new selectors we modified the quick release that had came off, and it's still going now and cost nothing. He was adamant if I wanted new selectors he would buy em too.

I gave my mate my car for a couple of months a good few years back,to be fair to him it was immaculate every time I seen it and when it come back it was spotless and filled with fuel. Wasn't quite as happy when I found out he had been shagging a hot blonde thing in it all the time he had it,I was well jealous lol

I Had similiar this week, lent all my tools and time to a supposed family member, for free,on the basis of "favour for a favour", and they didnt ask i offered as thats me... got everything done "for them", so thought sweet thats that move onto doing my jobs, as im real in the shit as they know...

Soon as i mentioned would they give me a hand(they NEVER offer) and could they pop my gear over(5mins away) and gis the sed hand...Boom their busy all weekend.
Funny that as if i hadnt done their shit during the week they were going to do it this weekend as COMPLETELY free....


Fcuk em from now on my days of being the good samaritan are done.

Down right disrespectful give someone an inch they take a mile!! I stopped lending my possesions to 'friends' after my bike never came back and said friend never paid up. Even had the cheek to ask me to borrow my old orion for a pizza delivery one night haha some people just dont get it .

One reason why I would never lend anyone my car, why coulden't he have hired a car?

Perhaps thats the reason why his car is off the road if he treats it anything like that.

Although it's bad, in his defense some people don't care about there possesions and he may have just been "treating it as he would his own" so to speak and thought nothing of it, but it's no excuse.

Sounds like rubbish as well about not being able to pay for fuel and tax, he has the money for a tank of fuel at the minimum.
