yeah but i mean have you got the pipes round the right way.

the one from the turbo housing should be the one that the screw pushes straight down onto.. the one to the actuator is the one coming out the side. (assuming you have that most common sort of valve)

Ive got an amal valve on mine but its not plugged in. When it got mapped i got told there was no power to the valve so the amal valve has opened and messed about with.

Ive lost boost from my engine.I know my turbo is tired so im gonna change that then get it looked at.

Either as said the pipes arn't connected corretly or split etc, or the wastegate is jammed.

just been out thought id try the amal valve again, right its working again but still the problem of overboosting (wastegate is free,no splits in the pipes, and the pipes the right way round) got a feeling its the wirkings in the amal valve will take it apart later

Do you have a split hose and what boost controller do you have?

mine only does it with amal on if i run pipe straight from compressor to actuator it runs 18psi but with amal conected it overboost to 28psi and pops was all ok at 24psi then 1day parked car up for few hours got back in and 10psi boost dv split so replaced and ever since overboost with amal connected also boost gauge aint that steady any more even at 18psi with amal bypassed

It sounds as if the Amal isn't working, do you have the pipes on the correct unions and you don't have a constant power feed to it do you?

Check the Wastegate actuator diaphram is not leakng. if it is, nomatter how much air you pump into it, the gate will not open untill the exhaust gasses push it open.

Also try plumbing it compressor stright to actuator so you are running only spring pressure with no external control to see what effect you have.

Always check fuelling and for det while playing with boost!

He tried this, as above, and it works!

Therefore I suspect it's something to do with the Amal.

It is supposted to have a constant feed as it's the ground that is switched, I just wondered if it's wiring etc had been messed with etc.

That did cross my mind as well, but don't some just remove them, is it a given that you must have a suitable size one? I don't have one in mine, so should I have really?

That depends how the boost control is set up and how much air you want the valve to bleed off.

Removing the jet in port r will make the boost increase massively when the valve is open if the actuator is correctly loaded
