If it's one of theose compressor thingies that plugs into your lighter the gauge is almost certainly screwed. Used the one in the company car a few weeks back and it said the tyre was at 34psi when I checked on another (trusted) guage it told me it was just 27psi

The gauges on those wee compressor things are shite. And why on earth they put a gauge on a tyre inflator that goes to 300psi when no tyre ever made will be pumped to that, and their compressors will never even get close is beyond me.

I pumped my tyres up with a brand new halfords foot pump last year, then checked them against a calibrated gauge at work. All tyres were 4 psi out! I then whipped the gauge off and tested it, at it's highest indicated reading of 80psi, it was 10 psi out. Shocking IMO!
