Default Diesel into Petrol

Just had the dread phone call off my mother in law, she has a courtesy car whilst hers is serviced and its the same model only petrol

It was on the red so she put £15 of diesel in to tide her over till tomorrow night......its a petrol

I reckon if she brims it with Super Unleaded it'll be ok

Thoughts?

No not if its got £15 worth in thats quite a bit, needs draining out IMO even if she tries to brim it and run it it will run like a bag of shite, the plugs will foul up and the oil will need dropping.

On an older car with no cat and less electronics it would be fine, a mechanic mate of mine used to reguarly put a 1/3 mix of waste diesel into his petrol nova . Ran fine but smoked a bit.

Wouldn't want to risk it on a newer car though

it baffles me how people manage to put diesel into newer petrol cars as the nozzle is almost twice the size so doesnt actually fit!

If it's a newish diesel I'd wouldn't even consider starting it, just drain it and brim it with unleaded.
