Default My new car!

As some of you may have read my escort is no more, it was taken to the scrap yard in the sky this afternoon...not all bad i got £200 for it, considering I only gave £300 for it 3 years ago im happy with that!

Well since then been on the car hunt and after being let down by one, and then another being a complete dog and nothing like described ...

Tomorrow Ill be collecting my new car

Only a few things that need doing to it,

  • Brake Pads need replacing (MOT advisory)
  • Brake hoses on the front (MOT advisory)
  • Fog light needs replacing as seal has gone and is full of water
  • Driver door has a small crease and a few scratches so a new door will be arranged at some point
109k on the car, Cambelt was done at 94k, clutch at 84k.

Going to get it serviced and brakes done hopefully on friday.

Im really happy with it, drives great, and very clean!! Not a spot of rust on it to my surprise

looks very clean.

Im guessing with those few bits that need doing AND the fact its done 109k that you got it VERY cheap

It is a real good example, the picture doesn't do it justice!

Nice car. These are a nippy car and they handle well. I would change the colour of the wheels though.

I like these. I hate the wheels though, think they look awful, don't suit it all. Would look better with standard back on it!

I took it to the garage it ended up needing discs, pads, front hoses and rear shoes! Nothing else wrong or needing doing and the garage couldn't believe how clean and rust free it is!

I spent today cleaning and getting the paint work to the condition I strive for! Here are the pics....

Had one that colour brand new W439URD and loved it,went really well and handled superb, only sold it to get my mother an auto cos her fiesta was fubared and I had the Cossie then as well.

Only problem I had with mine was theres a power steering extension/bleed pipe that runs up and clips to the bulkhead.that came unclipped and fell on the exhaust manifold, melted the rubber and drained the pas fluid out.

They may have modded it now but all I did after I fixed the hose was run it behind the strengthener bar on the bulkhead and left it clipped.

It sounds tricky but it took about 10 seconds,I'm not even sure if they do that from the factory on later ones but I know it happened to three of us who had them new.

Apart from that perfect,oh but I did handbrake it into the kerb in the snow and bend the beam a bit!!!never really affected the car though and p/x it a few months later!!

Great cars these, so much fun to drive and you have the best colour as well!

I miss mine a lot, partly as it was my first car so got quite attached but mainly just because it put a smile on my face everytime I drove it!
