It's ready to fire but what's the best way to do it?

I did try a long allen key in the pump but it's not fully straight when attached to the mini drill and i didn't want to risk damaging the pump so i'll be just cranking it over.

But whats the best process?

Maybe a silly question but when it costs so much money i don't want to fuck it

Turn the key and rev the tits off it.....

Seriously, disconnect the king lead/plug leads so it wont fire, crank it over a few times till oil pressure light goes out then have a quick visual check for any leaks etc etc then check timing is lined up still then if all is ok fire her up. Thats how I do it

As said above, Turn it over with no plugs in and carry on cranking it til oil light goes out.
Check oil level, put plugs back in and fire it up.

unless it already been done, turn it over by hand a few times first to make sure there's no piston / valve clearance issues before winding it on the starter.

just to be 100% sure..

Drive the oil drive with a drill in a clockwise direction using a 6mm socket on an extension that has a wobbly end, you can turn it over til it primes but why would you want to when you can have instant oil pressure??

plugs out and take king lead off, then crank over till oil light goes out, then crank it over a little more, that'll get oil flowing everywhere.
plugs back in and leads back on and fire her up.
then hold some revs to keep oil flow adequate for the first fifteen mins or so.

didn't read all the replies, saw it afterwards, just a general rule for most engines.
a drive on oil pump is a great thing, do it that way.
