I quite like the one with the plain bezel but I doubt they are worth much.

The thing about watches that I don't understand is why people will pay lots of money to buy a watch from a tailor (Armani, Gucci etc) or a car maker?

I suspect that Ford, Mitsubishi, etc, all buy their watches from the same no-name watch maker as the designers above!

True on the designer watchs , like a nice solid good looking watch but would be interested in payin a few grand for one, think they will prob get ya laid but a rep will do the same unless she's a pro money spotter.....lol

Having spent 2-3 grand on the Tags for me and the wife, and inheriting an old gold Omega, I like them all fine but wouldn't spend the cash again.

My Pulsar that I bought 27 years ago keeps perfect time and is still on the original strap. Even a real cheap Zeon from Argos that I use when working in the garage keeps accurate to seconds a year and if I ever break it, I can buy a replacement for less than a new battery for aither of the good watches.

Don't worry ran, there fakes but apparently won't fall apart within twelve months...I can't see wy people pay between 3 and 10 grand for a watch really, true they last a lifetime but like most purchases I make I don't want them for a lifetime, hobbies and fads change plus if you damage them it's the cost of an eng rebuild.could afford one but would rather spend/waste the money on other things

When I was a partsman at Ford I got the one with the rotating bezel free with 50 oil filters, didn't take long for the playing to wear off!? Still, it didn't cost me anything and it told the time!

Ran,

Funny I'm not into jewelry either but like watches.
A bit surprised at the watch snobbery on this site when I did a search , one guy got slated for posting pics of his watches, was told they were fake watchs and he was being the big man.Firstly they are not fake watches, they tell the time like the original but are not made by Rolex or omega etc , secondly he possibly like myself likes the look of the original watch but can't justify/afford the genuine one.

I buy parts for the cars all the time that are fake Ford or Honda but are cheaper/do the same job and no one bothers.

It's been compared to looking down your nose at someone who builds a fake escos or similar, when I was 19 all I wanted was a cosworth and built a (bad) rep as I could afford the car or insurance , I shouldn't be judged for that should I.

I see guys knocking around in badly modded cars all the time but I have learned to allow for other peoples opinions and tastes even if they don't match mine..

Rant over....lol

Yes you should you cheapskate peasant lol.

Only kidding above mate, your view is much the same as mine. I like the designs of the Tag and Breitling watches above but can't afford one so i would most likely by a rep. TBH even if i could afford one i wouldn't buy one as i'd be too worried about scratching it and also couldn't justify spending a few grand on a watch. As you say there is a lot of watch snobbery around.
