Default imobiliser issue? seized engine

Hello there on sunday my mate seized his 1990 mk4 escort van solid we have been looking for a replacement engine and have only found a like for like low mileage out of a mk5 van only problem is the key is chipped so engine imobilised because its a scrapped van there is no keys I recently bypassed a rover imobiliser with great difficulty and I understand the imobiliser on the van isolates the fuel pump ecu or starter so if I was to fit it with a non imobilised fuel pump and wire a simple push button switch to the starter will it crank and fire ? Or will I be getting conned out of £175 ?

Take it it's an 18 diesel? If so just swap the fuel solenoid from his pump into the pump on the new engine and it will go. You might need to remove the security case from the top of the pump to access the solenoid but that's all
