Default No spark! Trying to restart YB.

General question, what may cause having no spark?

Just changed my turbo, inlet, fuel rail, injectors and chip.
All of the electrical plugs have been reconnected, new spark plugs but the car will not start.
I pulled a plug lead off, put a plug in it and turned over the car with the end of the plug against the car body...there was no spark.
I knew it may take a bit to clear the air out of the injectors and rail, but when the ignition is on you can hear the fuel running through the regulator!, but i guess this is normal as the pump runs continuosly.

Any ideas what the problem maybe and how i can test to confirm the issue.
thanks

Air will in no way effect ignition, the pump does not run continiously as standard either!

It's most likely to be something to do with the chip thats been fitted I should think, you could always try replacing with your old one as a TEST.

I couldn't remember if the fuel pump ran to pressurise and then stop or not?
What (signal) tells the pump to stop and start?

Sure the chip is the right way around as i got DIVA to fit it for me.

The pump should prime then stop, it's signalled to do so by the CPS.

Sightly confused by that,....what has the Crank position got to do with fuel pressure? or if the fuel pump needs to run?

I always thought 'prime' times altered with tempeture via the ecu.

The pump wont run if there is something wrong with the CPS signal.

If the CPS is faulty / unplugged when engine is trying to start then no spark will occur.

Try the old chip to see if it starts, then you will know for sure if its the chip or something else, process of elimination.

In addition to the CPS, yes, the temperature is used to determine the duration of the prime.

The crank signal has nothing to do with the fuel pressure, neither has anything else electrical, but the pump will not prime without a signal from CPS.

The chip is probably for the wrong ECU? Eg if you have L8 the chip could be for L6

As I and others suspected then, yes CL is only applicable to L8/P8, maybe it's some sort of decryption problem.

What ever you do don't drive it like that, it was only suggested just as a test.
