Blimey, didnt expect so many replies so quickly but not enough feedback on those two venues
Gemma - dont panic, purely gathering info at the mo, will let you know when there is something to tell
Spiky, that WAS out of order and no there wont be an issue IF the project does kick off the ground (you know yourself that you were allowed to go to Bedford anyway).
PON, Brands is already fully booked
Need more feedback please peeps

Steve, ya right! It's definitely the wrong smilie. We need an ice skating one.....
With Steve and Dave here, it'd be better to compare them both to Torvil and Dean there was that much spinning!

pmsl @ the .....
We did have a wicked rip up doen the back straight. The cars are so even in a straight line as I think it was a case of who dared to brake the latest
You must have square wheels after locking up behind me when I was breaking late for the corners and you decided you were gonna keep accelerating whilst still aiming for me

Don't deny that you were impressed with the car and you even admitted that my driving was quite good for my first track day.
Atleast I managed not to go cross country and stay on the track unlike someone else
My mate who came as my passenger asked why Steve had an rs turbo as he would be better off with a Land Rover Discovery
Oh and Pon atleast our cars were there to spin
Ya mums car doesn't count

Thanks Dave, will bear that in mind re Oulton. The track does indeed look more challenging at Oulton than it does at Snetterton which is a good thing, but a map doesn't show things like barriers etc... so defo worth me bearing in mind.

Hi Clare, Oulton Park without doubt ! The track is far more demanding with many different types of corners and gradients, the facilities are new and extensive.

oulton park is quite good as far as tarmac circuits go , o would say its in the same league as croft , good , bit twisty , no 5000000 mile straights , more entertaining than just travelling in a straight line ! very good fascilities as well !!
just my 2 peneth worth as im not a track driver

Oulton
Venue is accessed by 1 main gate which leads directly onto the infield of the circuit. From there you can see approx 3/4 of the race circuit if you move around.
It has a very large sealed surface pit area which is fenced off and accesed through gates. Plenty of pit lane garages and hospitality areas including food and ale within this complex. If the rally stage is running then the cars will all be viewable from within the infield to add a bit more variety.
The track itself is awesome done quite a few days there now. From the start you have a straight into a fast kink right left downhill, then a wide fast lefthander leading into a long straight taking you down into a open hairpin bend which is kind of like a banked circuit. Then your out on the back of the circuit, through a wide chicane or two (using the rumble strips ) onto a long downhill straight before braking for another chicane, chuck it round a good for drifting right hander, up the hill flat through the bends until braking for a righthander at lodge corner (another drifters favourite). Down and up through a dip before leading back onto the fast straight start finish area.
Thats a very brief run through of a challenging circuit. Its quite a wide track so plenty of room for error, or showmanship etc. Most of the days I have done there we have not had to do a noise check and the marshals are very tolerant - yet good at there jobs.
Hope thats some of the info you were after Clare if not I'll shut up....
I was there a few weeks back with the Clio Sport lot when they tagged along to an organised trackday. ( they got a good discount too as they got a group of 15 together - and most if not all re-booked to go back )
