Default ford transit fault

a mate of mine has a 57 plate fwd tranny which keeps loosing power, it doesn't do it all the time, then suddenly it's back to normal. anyone any ideas. thanks in advance

Try a pcm update mate and carry out pump lean. has it got any dtcs? and how dose it tick over?

try a fuel filter as well if it hasn't had one for a while. ditto the pcm update. maybe a sticking egr valve as well

a what! whats a pump lean, has it got any what. it ticks over slightly higher about 200-300 rpm higher

haha or dear ok mate well best thing to do is find someone with a computer to plug in and going from there really. try the fuel filter they do cause alot of problems but from there youl need a computer really.
ps put a G-ford filter on mate they work best.

I would try a fuel filter.Dont forget to fill the new filter up with fuel or the engine will be a twat to start.

i have a 56 plate, always had trannys and this is the worst bastard ever, had similar turned out ta be fuel pressure regulator relay thingy bastard thing

Funnily its just had a non gen filter on it, could that cause it.

As far as I know the transit fuel filters are patented so I'd imagine genuine and non genuine are probably from the same manufacturer. Saying that the Ford logo'd ones do seem to fit better/easier.
