Tyres size's
I have just fitted a 225/45/17 to my wheel and it won't fit the front of my 3dr.
When I turn the steering it will catch the bumper one way and the body kit the other.
Now if I went to 215/45/17 will that reduce the height aswell as the width? I always thought the 45 profile is a percentage of the width?
The problem I have is I can find any trackday tyres is 40 profile that will fit my wheel and car. 235 will catch the arches and 205 won't be any good for a 8" rim.
215/4017 and 225/40/17 would be ideal but there's no track tyres in them sizes.

225/40 doesn't exist - 225/35 does if thats any good
what ARB have you on the front and how low is the car? - maybe look at what Ronnie did with the front wings as he spaced them outwards in the front corner to run big wheels and tyres

Standard 3dr arb. The gap front between the bumper and wheel and the body kit and wheel is about the same. I have koni's and Ahmed springs so not to low.
If I fitted a saph arb it would be worse. They push the wheel forward a fair bit.
If I fitted 235 I think I would have to mod the rear's aswell. Also if I fitted r888 they are more like 245's

Are your arches rolled right up and the kit trimmed right back? thats what i have done but the plastic arch is in line with the roll on the metal - could do with a touch of the trim as i've lowered mine more on the front
I run 205/40 front and 215/40 rear due to the ET & 8.5 width
Best person to speak to on here is Gav diamond as he runs big tyres etc

I thought you could get r888s in 215/40/17 or yokohamas. 235/35 is good. I had to trim my 3 door arches on the front running 8j 17s with 215/40/17s as they rubbed a little on hard cornering. Maxis and quite a few others doing track day tyres now. The law is changing soon and alot of current r888s will come ilegal to use on the road and led to believe theyre changing the pattens etc.
In the end 205/50/15s come up regular and i used them on standard wheels and just used to use prada proxys for like ford fair 15min stints as could be arsed to change over for small usage etc.

it depends on what you use the car for and how fussy you are about trimming the arches to suit i run 235/610/17 allround on 9jx17 et23 team dynamics with 20mm spacers on the rear and 3mm spacers on the front

What track tyres are you looking to fit bud?
If R888 a 205.40.17 measures about 213mm wide if I remember right so this would be fine for the front and offer enough grip

I run 888's 205/40/17 front & 235/40/18 rear. Arches cut back as rolling alone is not enough. Well worth the effort they give immense grip. I can get 225/40/19's on the back for longer gearing but can only be used on smooth roads as they hit up in the arch. My car is standard road height with no spacers.

If you have not trimmed the metal you are limited to either 235.40.17 or 245.35.17 but this is normal road tyres.
This is all if you are on a standard beam, if you have a 6 degree beam this will cause more issues as the standard beam causes camber when the wheel goes up so the top of the whell/tyre goes inwards at the top, if you have 6 degree beam the wheel/tyre stays level so you may have to step down on tyre width or cut the metal lip off the arch.
On my rear arches I have no lip at all anymore and the kit is bonded on.
I still have to mod my front arches as the bodyshop forgot however I have spaced the front of my wings out but with the saff roll bar and 215.40.17 tyres I had to trim the front bumper and splitter.
I may fit compression struts though and will set the wheels in a mid point from the standard roll bar and the saff roll bar.
Hope this is of some help

My rears are 8.5x17 and et35
I can run 10mm spacer with 235 tyres but on the 245.40 I can only get away with a 5mm spacer.
Im on standard beam though.
When I can afford a 6 degree beam I know I will have to go back to 235.40 or 245.35 and maybe no spacers.
Fronts are 7.5x17 again et35 with 10mm spacer and will be fine once the arch has been trimmed back.
Also bear in mind I am on coilovers and run my car pretty low so if you not lowered much you will have more clearance than me.

Yes, i was running 335x32 disc's, but down sized to 320x32 with no braking issues at all on track (4 pot Compbrake/brembo kit).
I suspect you could fit 330 discs under many 16" motorsport wheels as well.

Sorry the 335 discs were under my 17" (not 16" wheels), hence the drop in size when i bought the 16" track wheels.
Still 320 to 330 is a decent disc for a reasonably light sierra
